Debating Climate Change

AUGUST 11, 2021 BY JONATHAN MS PEARCE

There is no debate.

Past that, there are idiots who still like to debate it, some will infest these threads, and media channels still try to present both sides by giving them equal air time. Some of you might say “Well, that is no way to try and change their minds.” But I think they are a lost cause. They can believe the US government is secretly lizard people or that there is a paedohpile ring operating out of a pizzeria, inolving goat sacrifice or whatever. I’m not sure we should bother even entertaining them.

This video is an excellent synopsis of the playing field – worth watching the analysis too. It’s also a good exhibition of “I’m not a climate denier, but…”:
Time to change.

Here’s the thing. Whilst I fully endorse personal choices and action – reduce, reuse, recycle, ethical consumerism etc. – it ain’t going to solve the problem.

Regulation, regulation, regulation.

Free marketeers can do one.

In fact, as I have shown elsewhere, due to “necessity being the mother of all invention”, the free market gets a good spark of creative stimulation when prodded by regulatory policy.

It needs one hell of a prodding

Wholesale changes take place at policy level. Don’t ask people not to buy tungsten light bulbs, regulate them out of existence.

We are lobsters slowing heating in the pot and our children will know no different.

The guilt tripping in these climate debates drives me insane. It's all just emotions and it just makes me lose interest in actually joining any of these "debates"

All i am doing now is sit back and enjoy the ride.

Provided climate change is this great looming threat, the only real solution is nuclear power, and that's how we know it's not this great issue because all the groups that are super serious about climate change also are against nuclear power

Also, they seem to be against pipelines, but are fine with oil being shipped thousands of miles away because that’s apparently better for the environment, not realizing that ships probably cause more pollution than pipelines.

Too easy.

Some of you might say “Well, that is no way to try and change their minds.” But I think they are a lost cause. They can believe the US government is secretly Russians or that there is a coup plot operating out of a Florida golf course, involving QAnon or whatever. I’m not sure we should bother even entertaining them.

Time to change.

Here’s the thing. Whilst I fully endorse personal choices and action – don't go to pride parades, don't buy pro-troon books for your kids – it ain’t going to solve the problem.

Regulation, regulation, regulation.

Progressives can do one.

In fact, as I have shown elsewhere, due to “necessity being the mother of all invention”, the left gets a good spark of creative stimulation when prodded by socially conservative voters.

It needs one hell of a prodding

Wholesale changes take place at policy level. Don’t ask people not to troon their kids out, regulate people who want to do that out of the medical field.

We are lobsters slowly heating in the pot and our children will know no different.

Except the problem with that is you bring in such mandates, for electrical cars for example, the companies that make them will make no effort to make them long lasting, affordable, fast charging, long-distance or in the case of some of the features not rolling monitoring devices. Because the regulations mean it's their cars or nothing. Here's your lemon, good luck trying to win a case using lemon laws when it'd mean overturning regulatory decisions.

When you realise that Climate Change is the science equivalent of that creepy homeless man shouting "The End is Nigh" for more than than half a century, it all starts to make sense. The same way cults lie about the end of the world to get something from you (and thats your devotion to the cause at the VERY least), scientists and experts follow the same patern of behaviors except instead of throwing "bible verses" they have "research"...both probably were written by their own hands, mind you. Our world was suppose to end thanks to climate change for almost a century and nothing has happened, we barely sees the signs that they raised us to expect to happen at any moment.

It really makes you think now, doesnt it?
