Fuck yes. Ito, Del Toro and Kojima are pretty much the trio that could have made the perfect Silent Hill experience. I'm glad that Kojima hasn't just ragequit the video game scene entirely (although I would've understood his doing so, post-Konami), but I will forever lament the loss of that particular team for Silent Hills.

I agree. The experience with how Konami treated them certainly burned Del Toro and Ito quite badly, with one of them declaring they'd never work in video games ever again.

Even now, it seems Del Toro isn't even so much as advising on Death Stranding as he was on Silent Hills, which to me, says he's lending his likeness as both an insult to Konami and to back Kojima.

I have no idea what the fuck is going on. And I love it.

My wish is to find out what the fuck kind of game this is.

Take this with salt fellow Kiwi's since this does come anyone can be an anon and claim to be working for Kojima:
On 8Chan's /v/, there was a thread that tried to leak some basic info on the game.
View attachment 161834 tl;dr: man experiences an accident, ends up in another world (like MG:Survive?), the baby we see(Norman Fetus) is' the son of Norman's character. Rival in the game is the wife of Norman's character.
I wouldn't put stock in it since I last remember hearing the character you see near the end of the trailer that had a Del Toro lookalike was to be the main antagonist. Also, anyone can go on an image board and claim to be a member of a dev team.
I rate this :optimistic: but that premised sounds like a Kojima thing to do.

I don't know how good GAF's rumor mill is these days, but they say it's a stealth-action game with invisible enemies and a strong horror angle - Which, frankly, could all be pretty easily inferred from that trailer. Sounds/looks neat, though. The bastard child of MGS and Silent Hill that killed its parents in birth is the best thing I never knew I always wanted.

All these people complaining about not knowing what's going on. It's a Kojima game - that confusion is precisely what you're paying for.

So, here's my take of the latest trailer.

Inverted MGS.

Just think of it from what we saw, you literally cannot see your enemies so far in this game. Indeed all we've seen is a mountainous creature and the five crucified humanoid figures that were in the first game. Everything else was invisible

It might be a kind of reversal of roles, you're the obvious humans in the wasteland of the dying world and for the most part you'll be avoiding the skeleton war soldiers as you've done in the half dozen of Kojima games so far. Only now there's also some shit in a box hunting you too.

Thankfully you're getting some counters, which the detector kit seems to denote but these encounters are probably going to be as few and far between as the creepy cyborg women were in MGS V.

Also my environmental argument and Syrian Civil War (Multiple factions) seems to be somewhat on the money right now.

EDIT: Also the gaming press is just pissed because they can't say it's the Dark Souls of X.

it makes sense why del toro and mads don't get it, i doubt they know a noticeable percentage of the plot.

Well, you've got Mads and Del Toro who's english isn't as great as it could be, and then you've got Kojima's high school english trying to explain what a likely very "out there" game plot is going to be and even then it's unfinished.

The only man who likely knows most of the pieces (and has helped make some himself) would be Norman Reedus, and he's staying tight lipped as hell.

I watched the whole thing and just nodded.

So what this game is about, from what I can deduct, nodding in confusion.
