Im optimistic about death stranding 2. The concept of package delivery and traversal was cool. Now they just need to add some enemies and level design and we might have a pretty good game.

It took nearly a year for it to even make it's budget back, and then double dipped it on PC then PS5.

Why he's still entertained is beyond me when his first game with Sony limps along and only makes money shitting it out multiple times.

If you look at inflation, sales numbers etc. He hasn't made a record breaking game in sales since Sons of Liberty. MGSV beat it out... but that's on like four systems plus PC. It doesn't matter it sold more, it made less.


It sold over a million more, but 2001 money was way more valuable. It stands the point Konami cut him loose after all his sandbagging and auteur shit and it just wasn't worth the budgets he wanted for the returns he would get. Yeah they're a slot machine company, but all companies want max return on investment. And he clearly lives in his own asshole so I can't imagine him being easy to deal with. He's not in it to make cutting edge games anymore. He just wants to hang out with celebs people used to give a shit about and pretend he's a Hollywood director.
