Evie's losing weight, her pulmonary function has improved, and so has her overall state of mind, which may buy her some more time. Anna O'Brien looks ghastly, but now that she's seeing doctors on the regular, and has good enough health insurance to pay for specialists, ditto.

Don't have sympathy for this Becky person. If she had that reaction to the contrast, it means she has never, not once, in her entire life gone for tests before. She has spent decades walking around in pain and discomfort that clearly indicate to even a borderline retard that you are sick and injured. Instead of getting it checked out at any time in the past 40 years or however long, she's let it get worse and worse until rocking up to the hospital at this point expecting them to wizard her up an instant cure. And guess who pays for it? You guys. If she has the right to completely ignore a problem in the hope that it will go away, you also have that right to do so with regard to her.
