deathbattle reminds of the early 00 flash videos where characters from different series and games would fight eachother only, those videos were made for the fun of it, while death battle is 100% serious and autistic.

This is why the offshoot/knockoff series' DBX and 1-minute melee were infinitely funner. They just through two similar characters at each other and had fun.

The fake math is the least of DB's problems. The biggest issue is I remember hearing Ben arbitrarily chooses who wins. The "research team" (bunch of randos, including unironic Deviantartlets) then has to come up with enough excuses to sound "reasonable" to anyone just listening instead of paying attention and analyzing yourself the evidence that gets presented.

The OBD forums, they have a thread discussing DB and one of the posters there mentioned it at some point, don't remember what the claim is based off other than a couple of mentions that Ben dislikes Goku and thinks Superman is invincible, which reflects on the GvS video. The deviantart thing is pretty well known. IIRC another of their team members was http://ulltraguy.blogspot.com/, known in the VS community for very thorough Sonic sperging.

The poster himself got most of his information from his own research, talking to some of the deviantartlets (some guy named Akumasomething? I forgot) and a friend who was involved in the VA industry. The guy backed that by predicting some of the upcoming episodes at the time.

You're really gonna take OBD seriously on Death Battle?

AkumaTH does research, but has no bearing on the actual fights. How would he know how battles are decided?

And that first one about Ben liking Superman better is BS. If that were true, you'd sew all the most wanked Superman feats. But bah, they just took the most bland ones.
