Also, seems like yakuba broke the previous player count record:

Honestly, i initially thought that deadlock would stagnate around 100k players or so, but seeing the amount of growth that the CNS update brought gives me great hope for the game's future.
Well that certainly explains my SB experiences last night, 1 semi even match and then 5 back to back blowouts. The last one I played had our Seven do about 5k damage to a protected guardian while the rest of my team tried to stop our walker from getting raped. In 3 of the games there was a Rem on my team tbat never used their healing ability

Should I give Deadcock a shot? I got an invite some time ago...
It's genuinely an incredible game already, probably the only big multiplayer game doing anything new or interesting at the moment, besides Arc Raiders and The Finals but they both fell off hard because Embark are retards that couldn't manage an orgy in a brothel but that's besides the point.

The game has a high skill ceiling, and getting in to it can be a bit daunting at first as you really need both a basic understanding of MOBA macros as well as some rudimentary skill in hero shooter mechanics in order to play. But honestly so long as you can consistently hit targets some of the time, and get a basic sense for pushing waves and farming properly you'll end up in a better spot than 75% of the mouth breathers that play this game already. I'd strongly recommend checking out a quick ten minute video on basic map mechanics like the wave, camp spawns, crates, mid-boss, etc. just so you'll know the basics before going in, then play some bot games to get used to the mechanics and find some heroes you like. Also give street brawl a go as it's really good for learning what items do and how they interact, while also giving you some fight practice without having to worry about farming or any of the macro nonsense.

Be aware the community is a mixed bag if you care about that sort of thing, they can be extremely funny at times, and there's some genuinely wholesome chudiness to be found but a lot of the players have unduly high opinions of themselves, and getting bitched out by an 0-12 Haze because it was apparently your responsibility to teleport to the other side of the map to save them is like an every other game occurrence. I'd recommend just to fuck around and have fun, don't get too deep into the ranked rat race.

I tried to get into the game but after hundreds of hours in LoL in the past I am burned out when to comes to MOBA's, Probably also didn't help that none of the characters clicked with me. Though I haven't tried the newest update.

How’s Solomon? I didn’t get a chance to run any games last night.
He's my favorite so far of the new cast as someone who plays Venator/Talon solely for trap and skillshot mindgames. His 2 is basically a built-in tard wrangle + cleanse so you can pull people (including yourself) out of danger without having to build rescue beam. Rooks are silly amounts of damage in small spaces. Bishop and Queen are obscene area control and not really that hard to use if you set them up so you're moving them straight left, right, or towards you (away seems way harder to aim correctly).

Overall he's a complete monster for objective pushing with the team, just throw Queen into the main escape route behind whatever objective you're pushing and you can usually catch at least one person trying to get away with low health with it for an easy kill. Went 8-1-14 on my second SB game as him, probably because people don't know how to deal with his mindgames yet.

I find him to be an easier graves. His 1 is the main source of damage, his 2 works kinda like dynamo’s but you can only move yourself or your ally. 3 is a get off me button, 4 is a bigger 1.
I found that sitting on a roof and moving the pieces around to be the most reliable way of doing damage.

I am rather fond of playing the tank archetypes and occasionally Shiv. Not bad for someone whose last real competitive FPS was Team Fortress 2. Rat King is great. Suffering through figuring out the slide-hop and Shiv's movement techs.

Randomly got a match as Solomon today. He’s fun as hell, though I need to keep in mind that it may not be worth it to move pieces on the map versus just dismissing them. The game would have been perfect if not for the Mirage being dead silent, leaving lane constantly while saying nothing, and dying like 12 times before 20 minutes. That retard nearly lost us the game by himself.

This morning something tragic happened, I voted Danny… And we won. Harrow is going to lose because of me specifically.

I hope that the next 3 character will be less of a pain to deal inside objectives since I’m a bit tired getting repeatedly stunned, slowed and turned into a pigeon in a game where most battles are happening around objectives. This is how I imagine Valve discussing the new characters:

Baba needs to be sent to the fucking gas chambers with how over tuned she is in a spirit heavy meta. Even gun carries do alot of spirit damage, the only real gun damage heavy characters are Venator , Haze, Rat king, and maybe Vyper depending on build. My only cope as Sinclair is rushing tank buster + spirit burn/heal bane + cursed relic. Rebuttal is great too if laning against her but it's only healing you for the gun damage and it doesn't do shit about the spirit damage if a Baba is buying gun items, you're not gonna have issues with them in the game. I get that her role is anti spirit tank but Jesus Christ.

My games today have been completely miserable. The only bright point has been in the one I just finished. We’re losing this game badly and the Apollo so thoroughly loses his shit that he eats a chat ban. If you haven’t seen it yet, the whole lobby gets a big red sign in the middle of the screen saying it. Does anyone know how long those last, or if there are any other consequences other than not being able to use chat?

I will single handedly make sure TF2 Medic isn't dead last

Shortly after the first information about the heroic PvP shooter Deadlock from Valve appeared, the first game screenshots leaked online. The images were leaked by testers.

The screenshots showcase the character designs, interface, and maps that bear a striking resemblance to the urban locations from Half-Life 2.
I'm just here to say, I have no idea why Valve is making a hero shooter now. They are so late to that party it hurts.
Overwatch already stole all of the thunder like years ago. Until they shot themselves I guess. It's kind of funny to think that Overwatch kind of popularized the genre and then also killed it. :story:

There's still a trickle of that thunder left, I think

You get banned from playing ranked while it's active and it ranges from 1 week to 30 days I think.
