Patch is great. New characters are super cool so far, even if mina has another very strong gun passive.

Matchmaking has been absolutely atrocious however. Somehow more people playing has resulted in longer queue times, but also worse games. I've had about 2 decent games out of 10 or so since Billy released.

Playing solo is absolutely miserable. Doesn't matter how well you do, when you have imbeciles on your team.
*World of Tanks and Counter-Strike players*
First time?

On another note, I still don't like the artstyle of the game. Maybe its me but the cartoonish artstyle has been overused to death, in the same vein that the gacha aesthetic is getting tiresome to look at.

Deadlock reaches into that "timeless classic" type of area like DotA and CS. I just, look at it and see so, so much text I'd never be able to learn at this point. Hats off to 30 year olds who got into DotA 2 and put in the hours when it dropped.

I quit playing before the cowboy lady was released, and it is like an entirely new game now. I barely even remember how to move, and I have no clue where stuff is on the map anymore. Basically every game I am going into I am throwing because I have no clue what is happening.

Hot take: I think it was a good idea they consolidated the lanes down to 3 instead of 4. Cause that 1v1 lane can always crumble fast if a second person on either team comes in and do a hard push. Especially if those two are queued together.

Billy's design is good in a vacuum, but I'm not sure how a punk goat with a battle jacket fits into a 1920s new york aesthetic
I think as the game nears completion more people are going to be brought onto the team which isn't going to help with maintaining the stylisation of the game. I mentioned the music in a previous post but the instrumentation just sounds way too 80's with its drums, with that and Billy's design it seems they're forgetting the time period this game is meant to be set in.

Admittedly even if the game kept its style until this point the moment cosmetics are added it'll go down the drain anyway, looking at CS, Dota and especially TF2.

>The Doorman's ultimate is to send people to the fucking shadow realm.
I need to go back to this game, these new characters look great.
His whole kit is really cool and fun honestly. However I have had several glitches that have resulted in my death when I get put into his ult as Yamato. Namely when I press ult just as he presses ult. The game really doesn't like that interaction.

On another note how the fuck do you get good (:_(

Some Doorman stuff:
  • His doors have duration bars on top: 1756322189035.webp
  • When shooting through a door the game uses your actual distance from the target to calculate bullet damage. So even if it looks like you're right next to them your shots might be suffering from heavy damage falloff.
  • If you haven't placed your second door you can take back the first door you placed by alt casting your doorway ability and it won't go on cooldown.

Finally, portals in a Valve multiplayer shooter. Thank you Valve, very cool. This has been a long time coming, and with pretty flawless execution, I might add. They just need to add the OG sound effects when travelling through them, and iron out the bugs.

It's verbatim TF2 graphical style, minus the impressionist painterly flair. Maps are desaturated and slightly visually noisy; while the characters use big bright simple shapes, and lighting highlights that make them pop out.
