Shortly after the first information about the heroic PvP shooter Deadlock from Valve appeared, the first game screenshots leaked online. The images were leaked by testers.
The screenshots showcase the character designs, interface, and maps that bear a striking resemblance to the urban locations from Half-Life 2.
What is currently known about the game:
It is a competitive third-person PvP shooter where two teams of six players battle on large maps with four lanes.
The heroes featured in Deadlock will have their own unique abilities and consumable items.
For quick traversal around the location, players can use aerial rails similar to BioShock Infinite.
The setting is a fantasy world with a steampunk twist.
Deadlock will incorporate tower defense mechanics.
In terms of gameplay, it is a blend of Dota 2, Team Fortress 2, Overwatch, Valorant, Smite, and Orcs Must Die, while the hero design is inspired by the Dota universe.
The maps draw inspiration from certain modern European cities.
A Hero Shooter in the year of our lord 2024? Isn't that about 8 years late to the fad? When they already own the superior hero shooter TF2, to boot. I dun geddit.
Valve screwed over the Artifact fanbase by cancelling the Artifact 2.0 beta without even allowing users to invite friends like they said they would in January 2021 and does not deserve your financial support for these gross consumer-unfriendly practices.
