Which is crazy when you thing about that, but weird that Nicole looks like a early 20 something while being a senior medical officer or whatever. They kinda fixed it in 2, they age her up to look like shes in her 30s, but Isaac doesnt look like a 50 year old man at all. Ginger Isaac I can ever really tell what age he is supposed to be.... I guess I can believe thats a man in his late 40s???

What sad is they if they facescanned the VA for Isaac they'd have a surprisingly attractive man that nevertheless fits what you'd expect a worn-out 40 year old engineer to look like with just a few wrinkles on his face, but nooo, we got ginger potato that looks like a 1800's stereotype of the Irish.

Or worse, an uglified Miles O'Brien.

A lot of people shit on me and call me a coomer or whatever when I say this but video games are supposed to be idealized fantasy and i want attractive people of both genders in my fantasies.

I have absolutely zero interest in staring at someone's wine aunt Sylvia or chain smoking uncle Bob for twenty hours. if I want to see realistic looking ugly people I'll just go to Walmart or something.

Sometimes you don't want an idealised fantasy. I kinda liked the down to earth appearance for Isaac and Nicole in Dead Space 2.

I like how Isaac looks, although his face looks too clean for someone going throught the absolute hell that he is going through. Nicole is aging like any white woman does, poorly for the most part.

With Callisto Protocol being declared a failure, will Dead Space fare better or will we see the final nail in the coffin of sci-fi horror for another shitton of years?

Not going to lie I had a fantastic time with the DS2MP when it first released, a group of friends got it and every match was a total mess of team killing or refusing to leave the starting area as humans or just fucking with the enemy team, was a blast and I miss that broken shithole multiplayer. More please.

I suspect the clean Isaac is just an early game thing, and he'll be grimey as all hell by the end. One of the best little things in the Arkham games was comparing Batman at the start and end of the storyline - you realise just how fucked up he got across the dozen or so hours you played.

It was really odd how Isaac seemed to get somewhat younger in each entry. Though Isaac from DS1 looks like a different person compared to the DS2 iteration. He went from "believable engineer guy" in the ending (or the very beginning if you rotate the camera) to getting an RE styled makeover.

With so many different color swaps of the security suit, why did they never let players change the colors and camo of the security suit in the single player of DS2 or 3? Unreal Engine 3 easily supports that and gears of war 3 made plenty of use of it a year prior to DS2. Hell it even creeped its way into DS3 via the "N7 suit".
 
Dead Space 2 is still an example on how to do action and horror together perfectly

And Im still cant put into words how well Gunner fit with Isaac, he made the character his own and became far more iconic. Clarke didnt have to be mute for us to connect with him because his characterization was still so human and engaging that we root for him all the way. It gets to the point he throws a stupid line like "FUCK YOU! AND FUCK YOUR MARKER" and instead of cringing we are cheering for Isaac for putting out what we are all feeling at that point.

Amazing writing and VA.

Its amazing how they nailed this look and instead of trying to do a HD version, they are going with something else.

Has anyone else seen the new alternate fire modes for some of the weapons? The pulse rifle doesn't do it's crazy nonsense anymore it has the DS2 grenade launcher instead.

Flamethrower can be used to create pools of fire on floors or walls that set any passing necromorph on fire. Saw gun shoots out the disc blade that will bounce around. The force gun puts down a projectile that will drag and immobilise nearby foes
 
I'm interested in this remake but also wondering what is new. As far as I can tell...

-AI Director should add to replay value or challenge but I am sure its mostly just necro will spawn from 1 of 3 vents
- Interconnected ship with back tracking. Seems like a nice feature but not sure if this will payoff as the maps were not designed this way.
- Side missions. I guess there are added sidequests.

Havent heard anything about redesigned areas or new content.

It's kind of ridiculous not to just cast a young lookalike for the face capture when the alternative is the character looking like she's done drugs for most of her life.
