Looks ok so far. The change in design for the characters is always a negative for me. Its the same with the Bluepoint remakes of SotC and Demons Souls. They don't seem to understand the reason behind design choices. More polygons and higher resolution textures ≠ better looking games.

I also replayed the game last year on PC and it ran perfectly. I don't really see the need for a remake/remaster.

But most importantly if they change:
They should all die a horrible death.

What mods are people making for this engine that aren't just skins or randomizers?
you serious? right now a Skill Maker is being made for DMCV which allows users to make their own abilities with designated inputs. this was already made and released for DD2.

people have added in new game difficulties, full player co-op, and PvP for REEngine games.

This probably wont be in the game, hell it wasn't even on the Capcom promotional soundtrack they sold in japan as they had some copyright issues even back then

You had to individually buy all the extra security room clothes on the original 360 version anywa
No, pretty sure they were all free. You downloaded them separately but I think they were just free bonuses.
My god the bottom one makes them look 30 years older then they are. Why?
It's more REALISTIC you fucking BIGOT. You will enjoy the square jaw hag or you will go to the CHUD JAIL.

Posting some media I found on 4chan:

As someone who not only completed the game to 100% and put dozens if not hundreds of hours into it, but also did so very recently, I think I'm in a unique position to talk about the game from experience while it's still fresh in my head, versus someone who has nostalgia clouding their judgement or only played the game a few years ago. This is what I think:

The game isn't going to be as good as people think. We're already seeing the cracks, between censorship, uglification, technical issues, easing us into microtransactions, worse VA and denuvo. While the game won't be horrible, it will be shilled to kingdom come and mindless cattle/capcom fanboys will worship the ground it walks on. This is going to a repeat of Resident Evil 4's remake and it's controversies, but on a smaller and more concentrated scale: There is less Dead Rising fans than Resident Evil fans and the franchise is somewhat niche, especially the first game that is a cult classic. This means that a lot of the fans are going to get very defensive about any changes(especially for the worse) and will not be appealed to as easily as with the Resident Evil fandom, that has a lot more mainstream fanbase. Moreover, unless Capcom MASSIVELY dumbs down the game for casuals like they did with Dead Rising 3(which is very probable), this one won't have much staying power among your average gamer.
The opinions on the 'cuck are already very divisive: Most people seem to hate it and those that don't absolutely love it, those usually fall into the category of a blatant shill(sometimes one that doesn't speak English well or is clearly an outsider to 4chan) or someone who never played Dead Rising before and doesn't know better(shown off in one of the screenshots above).
There isn't really anything you can do, the game will come out and be praised by the usual suspects, then it will be forgotten in a few weeks just like the much hyped RE4 remake...that most people moved on from because Resident Evil 4 itself is much more replayable and enjoyable, not to mention it has much more content and is available on more devices(and for cheaper).
My advice is to buy/pirate the Steam version as soon as you can, just in case Crapcom takes it down. I have my 360 copy from way back still so this doesn't concern me, but I wouldn't trust this company in the slightest. Don't expect mods to save it either, you can go to the Starfield thread to see how that went for Bethesda.

Now, let's check in with probably the most influential Dead Rising fan in the world for a moment:
stipo sellout.png
Well, this is his favorite game, of course he's going to get excited. I still have my doubts, I haven't seen anyone praise the actual graphics and visuals that didn't sound like charlatan and this is my problem here. It doesn't help that he released the video on the remake, and, well, it sounds more like an advertisement rather than genuine praise to me. You be the judge.
He seems to be throwing the game's visuals under the bus rather quickly, for how much he praised the game for all these years. I bet he will also be talking how much the new demake improved upon characters and story, despite him also praising the original's as near perfection for years.
Speaking of his content, I can't exactly prove it, but I swear there were more videos on his channel. I saw comments asking him why he privated some of this videos, and now those comments are gone too. So much for being a preservationist.
I think he has been bought out, just like Sphere Hunter and Maximillian, to be an influencer and promote the game. I could be wrong, of course, but as someone who has been following this dude on and off over the years, he seems way too happy for how many problems this remake has. This could just be blind consoomerism as he is drawn to the game blindly by nostalgia, ironically enough like one of the game's zombies, but I've seen people sellout too many times to not notice the signs. Take what he says about the game with a grain of salt, he sounds very much like that troon Sphere Hunter when praising the upcoming game.

Well, I think I had my fill of Dead Rising for a while, Dead Rising 1 anyways. I'm finishing up Dead Rising 2 trilogy(if you include the Xbox Live exclusive Case Zero and Case West episodes, which are going down forever as Xbox Live store itself is shutting down by the end of the month btw) so I'm either gonna move on to Off The Record, Dead Rising 3 or even Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 since that game has Frank in it(much more faithful Frank than this one too) and I haven't played that in a hot minute. Demake or no, I will be fine, I'm all tired out from the Willamette mall and am content in sitting back and awaiting any potential drama, just like we've seen with the Resident Evil demakes. You should do the same, be it if you're looking forward to the game or not, don't expect anything amazing. The original will be superior, and this is not going to replace that experience anytime soon. I have my doubts if the game will be bad enough to receive yet another crowbcat video(Dead Rising 4 received 2 if I am not mistaken) but it will definitely be another overhyped 10/10 as crapcom shills and influencers tell you to forget the original title and accept the new one. Again, we've seen it happen before and it will happen again, there is a reason why Capcom fanboys in particular are memed on so much. Much like with Resident Evil 4 remake, I think we will see some conflicting opinions, but when the honeymoon season wears off, I doubt there will be anyone(other than maybe Stipo) who will claim that the new remake is better than the original.

All the visible changes are dumb and unnecessary, but this one's the worst/funniest to me. Isabela's gonna look off-kilter like Jessica and wear ugly clothes in this one, isn't she?
But most importantly if they change:
https://youtube.com/watch?v=lDeThz30JtQThey should all die a horrible death.
I'm a bit worried for all the licensed music in the game, but Gone Guru being gone would unironically put a dent in sales. Or at least discourage pre-existing fans that haven't been put off yet from buying, because it's the track associated with Dead Rising. It being absent on the old OST release isn't inspiring confidence, but stranger things have happened. Right?

I hope they don't change the credits theme either. Not even a re-recording, it's basically perfect IMO.

There is no way the licensed music is staying in if they didn't bother even contacting TJ for his character's big return. Gone Guru MIGHT be in since the guy who made the song is a big Dead Rising fan but that's about it, everything else will be some shitty "modern music" or a remix.

As much as I hate how she looks in this remaster. I wont lie it fits her.

The fact she can just throw a ton of shit together like a crackhead and somehow make a medicine that wards off the zombie infection for people not fully turned now makes more sense with how she looks like a fucking crackhead in this remake.

I very much like how they show the slop machine turn a better looking model from 2006 into the modern abomination right in front of your eyes, it's a nice touch. I guess it's the same phenomenon as the fog that rids the entirety of the Food Court from it's soul.
It's humiliating how much a 360 title is mogging the current remake visually. This industry really is completely devoid of talent now.

Like I get where they coming from. You live in any place in the US like a lot of game devs do, that a real popular city like NY(HAH), LA(HAHAHAHA), ect ect. You only see crackheads, homeless people, and the most ugly ass bitches that side of the USA. They just forgotten in their hole riddled minds that most people like to look at good looking people, and not the bathsalt huffing, Crack Smoking, STD riddled corpses that have only one drive and that's to do more drugs.

The worst part about this is that I actually designed a perfect remake of the game in autistic detail before, down to how the new areas were designed, how encounters worked, new items/survivors/psychos and how they worked together with vanilla's game content(and of course, how that could be improved while still keeping as much of the original's spirit intact).
The gist of it was that you combined the fluidity of movement and open world nature of Dead Rising 3(All of Willamette could be explored, but all the story related cases would still take place in the mall, time would pass only half as fast to let you comfortably move around the bigger area and give you an incentive to explore) while keeping the janky controls and difficulty curve of the original game, so that the content felt like something new added on top of the original game's core. Shit, I've even written down lore, substories and tried incorporating beta elements into the game's new content, even repurposed a few Dead Rising 4 characters and locations so that they were in a better game. I must have it here somewhere, I've updated my notes sporadically over the years whenever I had a fancy.

Anyways, this remake is going to be twice as disappointing for me since I know I could have designed a better game, not just boast that I could but have something to back it up. Oh well, Capcom seemingly already HIRED THAT MAN already so not like I could have gotten an opportunity for the job anyways.

Holy shit, really? No idea how I missed that, that's an even bigger dealbreaker.

It fits in with Capcom's trend of VAs being nicked for retarded reasons (see Reuben Langdon and Laura Bailey), but it's even more confusing with TJ since he's done recent enough work for Capcom in keeping up his William Birkin performance for RE2make. Why would they not contact him for the role he likes playing, especially knowing that one of the loudest criticisms with DR4 was Frank being played by some rando leaf instead of him?
Leave it to Capcom to be retarded.

Extra edit: Isabela could've been uglier? I still think it's a noticeable downgrade and her full render isn't even out on the promo website yet. I'd be shocked if her outfit was left alone knowing that Cheryl's outfit was too risky for modern Capcom.

TJ wasn't contacted because he's part of a Union. That's how cheap Capcom is, they don't care about this remake at all.
Worse, this VA sounds a lot like DR4's Hank East VA(not sure if it's actually him), and this Frank looks a lot like the Marvel vs Capcom Infinite Frank...who was voiced by TJ but had the personality of Hank East. This is just a disaster all around.
If they can't even get TJ on the set, there is no way they will pay licencing fees for any of the iconic tracks. There is already like 18 different DLC outfits planned and each one replaces one of the mall tracks with something else, they will use original music or tracks taken from other games.

That's what I suspected, Langdon and Bailey were cut off for the same reason (but in Langdon's case Capcom had the benefit of "he gave us bad PR!"). Amazing way to get longtime fans to refund in a few hours or outright not bother with this, they might as well cut sales expectations in half. Faggot retard company.

The shilling on 4chan definitely seems more desperate. RE4 Remake was sure to be a hit so the shils were more smug, now they're just flailing about, calling you insults and names and insinuating you never played the games. Pathetic.
The whole thing already left me with a bad taste in my mouth. It does not surprise me, however, as Capcom has proven long ago that they cannot make good games anymore. I was hoping that the Demake of RE3 was due to some sort of budget or time constraints, but RE4 Remake has shown that even if they have all the notes and need to change very little to make bank, they will still fuck that up. Dead Rising is NOT a sure hit, it's an unfaithful remake of a very niche game and due to the way it's been designed, there is absolutely no way to try to appeal to casuals, the "modern audience" and old time fans at the same time. Time will tell who they actually intended this game for.

They took away my racially insensitive retarded butcher boss

Okay, jokes aside, I hate how the RE engine just makes characters look unnaturally older. Some say its realistic but I say its just removing any chance for proper stylization. Dead Rising always seemed to have this "grounded until its not" style to its designs, what I mean is that the characters look realistic enough but there is still this level of uniqueness to each one of them and you see them being used in outlandish situations like Frank doing the atomic spinning move from Zangief or the flashkick from Guile.

Gen Z aging like milk so they take it out on our games

The bad food and awful mental health brought by years of unrestricted social media access sure taken a toll on them.
