DR is one of my favorite games so I'm curious about how this will turn out, not looking forward to it though. Its absolutely not necessary with the remaster making the game available on PC but I'm not going to doom over them trying to milk the original. Frank looks odd and TJ not returning is the biggest shame, they had him back for MVCI and REmake2 so its strange they don't have him back again. I was interested to see them return the series with the RE Engine, even if its not the greatest, to see what an in house team could do. Shame the future of the franchise will depend on this. I wonder if they'll attempt to revive Lost Planet after this.

This is really the big thing. People have harped on the AI and the controls, but this was one of those cases where jank managed to enhance the final experience if you came at it the right way. Peak DR was trying to do an all survivors fresh playthrough on DR1 - nothing DR2 offered provided the urgent rush that DR1 would impose on you thanks to its shit AI and tighter deadlines. You had to really know what you were doing to get all possible survivors out alive, and the other games never delivered a comparable experience.

DR2 was an upgrade in every way on paper, and I've never been tempted to go back to it. My brain still tells me that it would be fun to pick the original up again.

I HOPE they fix this shit. And no TJ WHY exactly? Why Capcom feels the need to fix whats not vocally broken? It goes for multiple franchises of theirs.

Resident Evil 5 remake is absolutely happening, despite all the soyfaggots crying about it. They wouldn't have dropped all those hints in the RE4 remake otherwise.
 
I just hope they at least get Steve Blum to reprise his role as Clint in the remake. He’s always been one of my favorite psychos.

Looking back, Frank sure had a bumpy road up to this point, huh? Crazy to think he actually peaked in his very first game(and UMVC3).

I'm not going to doom and gloom, but the more I think about how the game could go wrong under current day Capcom, the less I care about it. It won't even be a disaster on the same level as Dead Rising 4 so there won't be as much videos shitting on it either, likely much more videos shilling it and crying that only toxic chuds think the original is better(just like with nu-RE games). It will bring about the much hated niggercattle into the franchise, and really I just want this to be a niche little game only I and a few other people remember. Can't have that, apparently.

I'm done with Zombie Genocide Master achievement so I will be moving on to Case West soon. I've only got a few achievements that require me to use a certain kind of weapon/item and the one that has you spray paint Zombrex posters(I forgot that was even a feature). There is of course the coop/TIR challenges but I doubt I will be able to find people to play with at this point, so I will just have to leave those be. My notebook also has a few missing entries, and apparently it's the DnD nerds that are nearly impossible to get unless you do every single scoop before theirs. I always thought they were a new addition in OTR, but I guess I will need at least one more full playthru before I am done.
I haven't played the DR2 era Frank games in about a decade, so I guess I will soon get fresh perspective on if they were any good or not. Good timing with the new remaster, I guess? I will see if it was just nostalgia or if OTR/CW really are that good.

Thanks for the offer, but I'm playing on xbox and I don't feel like spending money on Xbox Live right now. I'm thinking that unless the servers gets pulled or Xbox Live for the 360 gets shuttered, I will organize a few people to do this with in a bit, maybe a year or two. Got some other games I want to finally get achievements for anyways, might as well do everything while I have a gold membership.
Oh, and apparently we will have more details on the remake on it's proper reveal on the 1st. I'm not personally excited, but I guess we will see if it's 100% confirmed that the remake is, in fact, a demake or not then.

Let me know when you do this, I would like to hop on xbox 360 and do the multiplayer cheevos, its a dead game on xbox 360 and ps4.

My guess is that it's a union thing, as Capcom has a history of hating them(most of SF6's cast aside from Ryu were not re-hired for this reason)
This kills the remake in my eyes, even if everything else is great(it won't be), this just isn't Frank. TJ IS Frank and no other entries without him voicing the character are worth your time.
 
As above. I wouldn't mind a good remaster, but there's not near enough to make up for a lack of TJ. Hard pass. I'll just keep trying to REshade my copy to look more like the OG Dawn of the Dead.
 
Honestly the only thing that I'm hoping gets censored in this game is the cross-dressing, but I have a feeling that they won't let you take creepshots anymore to get the "Erotica" bonus, which also likely won't return because it's "problematic" now.

I'm honestly more interested now. Able to move with guns and will come out Digital 9/19/24 and physical November, so not too far from now. Japanese devs with some of the originals returning, which i'm happy about.

I don't like the new voice, but the frank west in-game model looks better than the one in cutscenes.

Also TJ can be heard in the game, but he isn't playing Frank West. That's kind of weird. Frank West 2006 model will also be a model you can use in the game as well if you dislike the new one.

This is weird, its called a remaster but its a remake? Also there was no dead rising deluxe so I'm just confused. This is bad marketing.
