Is DHI even still up? If so I assume they either remained the same or got worse?

I still check it about once a week or so. They got rid of guestposting earlier in the year, mainly because far too many anons were mocking Kugelfisch for degrading into a mini-Spoonyone with his constant tantrums. So much for their virtue signaling with free speech, I guess! Other than that, the forum is still an overglorified daycare center for Le Redditeur. Speaking of him, he's been larping as a South American for about a year or so. Why he thinks is a good idea + why DHI continues to mollycoddle him is anyone's guess. I know they were being particularly smug about the keffals affair. I would post screencaps, but it's really more of the same "we totally don't have a dunning-kruger complex over kiwifarms" faggotry that has already been pointed out in this thread and elsewhere a couple of times before.

More and more regulars (KeithChegwin and CIANigger/MegaNigger, for instance) are deserting the place, and I don't really blame them. I recall almost nothing about GitGud, other than that Kugel feels compelled to bitch and moan about him often in thread that have nothing to do with GG (Interesting that the "German nationalist" hates his fellow Germans the most, no?).

And yeah, nowadays the forum is mainly the four perpetually unlikable homos, Kugel, TicTac, Voice and Le Redditeur fagging up the place with their fence sitting faggotry that they somehow insist is "principled right winging". There are a few other semi-regulars who aren't as offputting and joyless as those parasites, but I imagine even those are aware that DHI is just a daycare center for failed 4chan normalfags and they accordingly keep their expectations (if they are any) very low.

The Erica Anderson user you're thinking of is Newhalf. Don't remember much from him (DHI userbase is a blur and they aren't as unique as they'd like to think they are), besides Kugel complaining incessantly about New being Bavarian. I see OBM posting here and there once in a while.

And pretty much, lol. Kugel is so devoid of joy it's mindboggling. He's the sort of person who gets irrationally angry if one were to ask him "what makes you happy?", which rather unsurprisingly did happen at least once in DHI 2.0.

The North vs South German thing is something older generations used to do, it got completely overwritten with the unification when you suddenly had loads of dumb Saxons to complain about. I'm all too aware of the West vs East divide. I don't think Germany is much of a "country" at all for many reasons, but that's neither here nor there. Kugel is from 1986 iirc.

There was also Pepsiman sometimes arguing with Kugel when ASS wasn't there. CIANigger I think was that kind of joyless freak who needed to shit on everything but unlike Kugel had a harder time hiding his deep want for acceptance. A lot of his posts came off like a cry for help more often than not and I remember him chiming in at my guest posts on many occasions waving the "OG poster" banner. Either he killed himself or wised up.

TicTac and Voice, if I put a political angle to them, came off more as that jaded libertarian/former liberal type. Best analogy I can make up on the spot is they could see the forest for the trees, but the trees were made of shit lol.

ASS was unintentionally funny in DHI 2.0, then 4.0. came around and Kugel etc just kept screaming incoherently at ASS, regardless of whether ASS was being genuinely annoying or not, and it just turned into yet another parasocial fixation on DHI's part. No reason they could've simply booted ASS, but instead they opted to ruin as many threads as possible by directing their autistic screeching at him.

I know I already brought up their AVGN thread, but I think it's is a perfect microcosm of their aforementioned gatekeeping et al. They want to pretend they hate Reddit above all, but they behave exactly like 'TheCinemassacreTruth' subreddit in that they think James Rolfe should be cynical and embittered just like they are.

The PushingUpRoses thread is still a fun read, but I don't think any of DHI regulars ever elaborated on how or why LazyGameReviews/Clint is a "cuck," other than his presumed guilt-by-association for colaborating with PUR on two videos or so, and that was about a decade ago. That's another chronic problem with the regs: Present them with a simple, harmless question, and they either struggle immensely with the 'response' (which is really just a derail that has nothing to do with the subject at hand), or they just act disingenuous and make shit up to feel self-assured (the "dude, trust me" act). Is it impotent narcissism because "DHI is always right," and therefore they cannot ever be wrong or plain clueless? Or they just have no communication skills to speak of? My money's on both.

Can't say I ever cared much for LordKat myself, seeing as how he came off as perpetually unlikable to me, and I was always turned off by his DHI thread title claiming he was a "self-made man." The theory spinning is most likely the DHI regulars just going on copium mode because one of their 'heroes' turned out to be a major faggot, and they'd rather much deflect and go around in circles with semantics as opposed to just admitting they were wrong. They've done this more than a couple of times before. Though they would like to believe themselves to be enlightened and trustworthy, the matter of fact is the core of DHI is as juvenile and tone-deaf as the ChannelAwesome fags that they've been obsessing with since the late 2000s, especially when you chip away at their 4channy coat of paint.
