No lights, no emergency calls, closed shops. Tens of thousands of households in Berlin were hit by a power outage in the middle of the night. Nursing homes and patients were also affected. Thousands were without power for hours. According to initial police investigations, the cause is likely a politically motivated arson attack on two power poles in Germany's capital, which paralyzed the power supply there.

Around 50,000 households and businesses in southeastern Berlin were affected, many of which remained without power until the afternoon, some even longer. The power outage also partially disrupted public transport, and traffic lights failed. The emergency numbers 110 and 112 were also unavailable via mobile phone in certain areas.

Alarm at 3:30 a.m.

The alarm was raised at 3:30 a.m. The fire destroyed several thick power lines in the Treptow-Köpenick district, near a residential area with single-family homes and plenty of green space.

It took firefighters an hour to extinguish the fire. According to initial findings, the perpetrators had used an accelerant, such as gasoline.
Work on the power supply could last until Wednesday. "We're preparing for the fact that we won't be finished today," said Stromnetz Berlin Managing Director Erik Landeck. The technical work can only begin once the police have finished their on-site search for clues.

Evidence of an attack

Police are investigating whether it was a political attack. Forensic experts examined the crime scene in the Johannisthal district this morning. Investigators say the choice of the two power poles as targets and the perpetrators' actions indicate that it could have been an attack presumably by political extremists.

Police say they are investigating a claim of responsibility. The text, published on the left-wing radical website "Indymedia," stated that the attack was directed against the Adlershof Technology Park in southeast Berlin.

Memories of a previous attack against the German Tesla factory are resurfacing. Investigators are investigating a possible connection with a planned development center for tech billionaire Elon Musk 's electric car manufacturer in the area.

"Whether this plays a role is also the subject of the investigation," a police spokeswoman said. However, there are no concrete indications yet. The investigation has been taken over by the State Security Division of the Berlin State Criminal Police Office, which is responsible for politically motivated crimes.

Also according to The European Conservative, a right-wing media outlet, a left-wing anarchist group known as "Some Anarchists" has taken responsibility.

Could this have been maga types or siemens shareholders tired of these companies not killing enough marginalized peoples?Tired of smelling immigrant food, wanting to shut off their stoves and crockpots?

The extensive and very communist letter claiming responsibility is obvious diversion that's obvious.
