I don't think it really was Moore was a fan of Ditko's writing, his art sure. But what fascinated Moore about Ditko is how the guy went full recluse in the late 60s early 70s and dedicated himself to Ayn Rand philosophy, which of course went against Moore's hyper leftist anarchy political views. I think he thought his writing was more interesting in it's extreme dedication to philosophy than he was actually into it. the basics is Watchmen is the Charlton characters, but Rorshach is more based on Mr. A then the Question. Who was just the Question again but taken to a degree further than a children's comic let Ditko go.Alan Moore is stalker level obsessed with Steve Ditko
I read it years ago, it is. The movie is fucking terrible they changed a lot and sanitized the fuck out of it. the book isn't a great American classic or anything, but a good tragic little story but the movie is a shitty sports comedy. Even in the 30s Hollywood was fucking adaptations.Danner mostly resembles Superman in his inhuman strength. Sad book.
