WARNER BROS. DISCOVERY DROPS DC COMICS FROM COMIC-CON FLOOR

For the first time, WB and DC will not have a presence on the convention floor, said to be due to David Zaslav making big changes.

Warner Bros. Discovery has decided to drop DC Comics from the floor of the San Diego Comic-Con.

THR reports Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav is making big changes to the company's approach to Comic-Con which will see, for the first time, WB and DC not having a presence on the convention floor.

Over the years, I have attended various conventions, including the NYC and SDCC, and WB and DC put on quite the display (see below) with booths for the comics and movies where fans were able to meet various creators, get their comics signed, check out movie costumes, etc.

Well, that's all gone.

The Warner Bros. Discovery official press release about the DC plans did mention five panels for DC Comics:

  • Jim Lee and Friends — Join world-renowned comic book artist and DC Publisher and Chief Creative Officer Jim Lee in this can’t-miss panel featuring some of his comic book colleagues to talk with them about some of the top-secret comic books coming from DC! Special guests and surprises galore!
  • Gotham — In a town like Gotham City, it takes the bravest Super Heroes to keep the city safe from some of the worst villains in crime. Don’t miss this panel that dives deep into some of the heroes, anti-heroes and super-villains that make Gotham the wildest city in all of comics! DC Executive Editor Ben Abernathy will moderate a discussion with Ram V (Detective Comics), Sean Gordon Murphy (Batman: Beyond the White Knight), Tini Howard (Catwoman), Jock (Batman: One Dark Knight) and more.
  • Dark Crisis — The epic event 30 years in the making is here! Don’t miss out on hearing from the key members of talent behind Dark Crisis, Dark Crisis: Young Justice, The Flash, and Worlds Without a Justice League, including Joshua Williamson, Daniel Sampere, Meghan Fitzmartin, Tom King and Jeremy Adams for exclusive details on what’s to come!
  • Tom Taylor & Tom King in Conversation — 2022 Eisner Award Nominees Tom King & Tom Taylor are kicking off San Diego Comic-Con together by discussing writing Nightwing, The Human Target, Supergirl: World of Tomorrow and Superman: Son of Kal-El, and what’s in store for the future. A few surprise guests will be stopping by.
  • Comics Are Fun for Everyone — No matter if you are a casual fan, a YA fan, completely new to comics or a weekly warrior, comics are meant to be fun and for everyone! We’ll be highlighting comics and graphic novels from across the DC Multiverse, as well as animation and more in this fun-filled panel. DC Senior Editor Katie Kubert will be joined by Daniel Warren Johnson & Juan Gedeon (Jurassic League), Kami Garcia (Constantine: Distorted Illusions), Becky Cloonan & Michael Conrad (Batgirls) and more!

The Flash and Aquaman 2 will also not be at Comic-Con.

The San Diego Comic-Con runs July 21-25.

Makes since considering how much failed recent comics coming from them are. The fact they are destorying the batman comics the only thing that sells. The killing of the justice league for the minority league. The clusterfuck fuck that has been DC cinematic universe and the failed DC tv shows that are made by women.

So shouldn't it be DC comics drops Comic Con, title makes it seem like they were kicked out of it rather than just not showing up.
Yeah that's what I thought as well. I thought Comic Con was telling DC not to show up so they could devote more convection space to Funko Pops or whatever.

I can weigh in on this as this, the industry was part of my life. This will a overall short comment on a problem that has been going on for close to 15 years.

I'll start with that retroactive abortion, known as San Diego Comic Con. This WAS the place where people used to go to have fun, see artists, as well as try to get into the comic creating industry.

This changed in 1999, as the con began to become a multimedia convention in the guise of a comic book
convention. Since then they bought out all competition and what was Wonder Con of old and A.P.E. (rest in peace Rory Root) and became the sole point of gate keeping for that industry. Basically they sucked Hollywood's dick.

But then problems happened. It was no longer a comic book convention It became an organ grinder for the WOKE industry. Prices went up because there was no real competition. Less comic. More MENTAL MIDGET FAGGOTS as well as STRONG AND BRAVE NARRATIVES.

They pissed off their main demographic. +34 white men. Yes They be ORANGE MAN BAD GAMER GATE BAD BAD MEN.

Now who in the fuck is going to a convention with that underlying attitude? If you have noticed that Cosplay has been not promoted as much as it used too, but yiffing is just okkkkay.

Get it? Who in the fuck is going to go and pay for this shit? It is sure not the fucking WOKE crowd. So over the years they have been overall been losing money per person (note of course they can make it up by raising prices).

When they tried digital Cons, they not only lost credibility it showed really how many people did care about the con itself.

A lot of companies have left SDCC and seeing DC not being there? I can see why.

Now lets Talk about DC comics.... which is now owned by Zanslav.

As I have stated before and it has started to happen. Zanslav is a REAL axe man. He does not care about you or your family. He only cares about the bottom line.... money.... Hell if he thought that overgrown ghey men in Fluttershy costumes would make him a good amount of money, then he will make it happen.

But he is a fucking Butcher. An Axe Man who became a billionaire with his concept that does work. And though there are things in my life, when dealing with Axe men such as he, you have to give that respect for making it that high. Yes Zanslav known in many business circles. Shit I've even heard of him so when he made the deal to purchase TimeWarner, man... I had to fucking laugh. Because I already know that in TimeWarner's Kingdom of Feefee's,.. heads are going to roll. And its happening.

And to be honest, you have to be a bastard, an asshole, and a person who just do not give one shit about what people think about you to succeed in life.

Remember Zanslav does not care about comics. He cares about what to cut and what will make money. And he is going to trim down the rotted fat of what he has purchased.

He did the numbers and decided that to pay for a large amount just to be there is not worth it and to be honest that is true. SDCC is a symptom that is part of the WOKE industry of Entertainment.

Because. You don't make money when you are woke.

As a big DC fag when I was a kid, it brings me great pleasure to see their modern incarnation raked across the coals.

I'm still amazed garbage like Supergirl was allowed to live for so many seasons which while also being shit also had the gall to turn Jack Kirby's campy Transylvania monsters planet into the background homeworld of a do-nothing recurring gay vampire.

Comics should have just focused on being comics, and not attempting progressive propaganda.

Yeah, why take up floor space at a comic convention when 99% of your revenue comes from movies and TV shows. This just like what happened with E3, companies are realizing that they don't need to buy physical advertising space if all their products are virtual media. A true woke modern DC fan is reading Twitter and reddit posts more than comics anyway.

So Warner is basically running all their subsidiaries into the ground. Their executives probably see everything as an "IP-verse" just like that Space Jam sequel they shat out.

Good. They've deserved a long and painful death since the 1940s- especially considering half of their moneymakers are stolen ideas.
