"No Man's Sky" "GOTY"

Pick one, Faggot.
"Phrase of the Year David Gallant Has Thought to Himself While Tweeting for the Last Five Years:
2012 - 'Notice me senpai!'
2013 - 'Notice me senpai!'
2014 - 'Notice me senpai!'
2015 - 'Notice me senpai!'
2016 - 'Notice me senpai!'"

Hahaha holy shit, that list is hilarious. "AM I ONE OF THE COOL KIDS NOW? PLEASE, PLEASE, I WANT TO BE COOL." That's the most try-hard, hipster faggot list I've ever seen. Also anyone putting 'No Man's Sky' as GOTY doesn't count as a game developer or likes games as a hobby. Because there's no way that anti-consumer, piece of shit title is worth anything other than derision. Anyone choosing it has their motives transparent, because they don't like video games and they don't like people who play them because they favor a fraud and a liar.

Also a Bachelor of Science is meaningless, you can get a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Just because its got science there doesn't make you a scientist. Also if you haven't used your engineering degree in like 40 years, you really aren't a scientist.

At least the developers behind No Man's Sky are still working on making the game how they originally wanted it to be, it just shouldn't have been released in the first place until it was actually finished, I'd blame Sony for that one.

That being said, at least it was released. Star Citizen at this point is just as bad as that Sweden SMS service where you just throw money at it and it goes to nothing.

Davey having a bs in science doesn't make you a scientist, in the same way that releasing a "digital experience" doesn't make you a game designer.

Bill O'Reilly has a history degree.

Is not an historian.

So every single one of these choices is one Davey's friends worked on.

The fucking faggot.

It's like he's the human personification of why there was ever a Gamergate in the first place.

You want to grab him by the scruff of the neck and shove his face down into his turds on the floor and yell THIS! THIS IS WHY!

No Man's Sky at least attempted to be semi usable.

Fez is worse. Fez was barely worked on by dour sour-mouthed Quebecois mounteback Phil Fish and he was hailed as a genius. It has no narrative whatsoever, a regression back to SNES games with cute graphics.

I defy you to tell me you have ever in your life seen a douchier, more punchable face than Phil Fish's.

That's it! That's the classic picture of this odious twat.

In the OP I think we had a photo of David Gallant leering at the camera with Phil Fish in the background, this is what David honestly wants to be, an 'acclaimed' indie developer in an equivalent of 'indie game: the movie'. I wouldn't be surprised the reason we haven't heard from Phil Fish recently is because David killed him and prances around wearing his skin on the weekend.

You want to grab him by the scruff of the neck and shove his face down into his turds on the floor and yell THIS! THIS IS WHY!

Let's do just that:

Fez: "Created" by Phil Fish and put through the Indie Game Festival via IndieFund, who sponsored the event and saw to it that Fez won by default, this entertaining little puzzle-platformer seved as a vector primarily for its game's maker, Phil Fish, who heretofore had been known for shit-talking PC Gamers and Japanese developers, claiming he represented the best of the western indie scene. News of Phil stealing his game's general concept, the fact that his game was essentially default shot through the IGF, and the fact that Phil would later go on to have his buddies further suck his dick in Indie Game: The Movie would show that Fish basically represented corruption in the Indie Scene and he fucked off early into GG rather than face the weaponized Autism of GG. David's faceshot on Lolcow Wiki features Fish in the background, and is taken from Indie Game: The Movie.

Papers, Please!: Unique among the games on this list because it's actually quite good on its own merits, Papers, Please! Nonetheless bears the unholy stigma that comes from the IndieFund set. Lucas Pope is a damned talented developer and unfortunately happens to be completely surrounded by Quinn and friends. I'm willing to give a pass to him on this one, less because I give a damn about his ideology one way or another and more because the game was actually very good. Zoe Quinn's a close associate of his, however, so it isn't all good news.

Jazzpunk: A game featuring Zoe Quinn, who Daveykins thirstposts eternally over, and Jim Sterling, the infamous literal cuck who left The Escapist because it gave a platform to GG and who pretended to be neutral on the GG thing only to be browbeaten by his co-workers and assosciates (including Quinn herself, who is an IRL friend of his) into flip-flopping less than a week later and going full autist. Despite framing himself as a consumer advocate, Sterling has been completely compromised on behalf of SocJus for years and will simultaneously pull the "Tits and Ass Games have no reason to exist" canard while he whines about how games need to grow up. It makes you proud that Senran Kagura's developers have no respect for his ideology whatsoever.

Love in a Dangerous Spacetime: Made by Asteroid Base, a Toronto-based developer that Daveykins happens to be an IRL acquaintance of. A decent game that happens to be waist-deep in his clique and is another game tarnished by involvement in the Indiefund Scandal.

No Man's Sky: Another game who Davey's clique fapped themselves raw over while delivering a game more disappointing than pretty much every disappointing game of the last seven years. The internet left its asshole in ruins over the fucking arsenal of promised content it didn't have and the ass-fucking level of pretentiousness it had, one that even other SJWs sliced into it over. Gallant is a long-time twitter friend of Sean Murray and several of the clique are likewise on great terms with him as well.

Also didn't Phil Fish refuse to produce a sequel to it in an extended pout over prone criticising his game because they didn't deserve it or something?

These indie game "scene" types are best avoided to be honest. Just because it has cutesy pixel graphics doesn't mean it's going to be fun. They all seem to fap each other red raw over how great they all are when in fact they're pretentious bellends.

If you want to play a good "indie" game, avoid all those who describe themselves as "indie." That way hipsterism lies.

Oh my I haven't heard of this before. But of course the SocJus crowd is going to hate this because they call EVERYONE a troll and this will destroy their narrative that EVERYONE who trolls them is a fat fedora-wearing misogynist.

Some of us Kiwis should go on that programme. The ones of us with jobs and suchlike so we can troll them by being functional humans with responsibilities and lives while they're all safe space dwelling e-beggars, that is.

Yup, it was in response to this critique.
This was Phil's response on twitter.
Phil Fish said:
The thing with us "tosspots" "hipsters" is that we're not beholden to media leeches like you, and you're right. we're VERY successful. And we're not going anywhere. Get used to it you middle-aged parasite. Compare your life to mine and then kill yourself.
Followed by...
Phil Fish said:
im done. FEZ II is canceled. goodbye.
Then Phil ran off for a few weeks before returning to whine on the internet some more. Phil only permanently fucked off the internet after gamergate started, when someone or some group going by "Head Mod of /V/" hacked into his company, Polytron, and dumped 1.5GB of their personnel and financial data in August 2014.

He also had this retarded, pants-shitting meltdown that he cancelled Fez 2 because gamers "didn't deserve it," for how Quinn was treated. During GG, he cancelled and uncancelled it repeatedly to pity-fish, and quickly he became an even bigger laughingstock.

Internet Autism Machine locks onto him, finds out he basically stole the concept for Fez, and Fish backed down quickly, leaving the other members of Quinn's clique to drown as the Internet Autism Machine locked onto the actual targets. In many ways, he was the only one smart enough to realize that the good ship Quinn was going under, and him making himself scarce was a stroke of brilliance.

Years passed, and Fish emerged again - this time as a VR Developer. He was making what was basically a 3D Tetris clone (Superhypercube) and declared he was refusing to release it on the Rift because of Trump Supporters. No one fucking cares about it because it's a VR title that's doing something that a Virtual Boy title did twenty years previous.
