Is he kidding? His work fully reimburses him on his commute: it's called getting paid. If you want to be less strapped on the basis of a commute, pick somewhere closer, earn more money (this usually comes when you develop these things we call skills that employers seem to find awfully useful), or, you know, don't fuck up the job you have like a dipshit and be forced into having to settle for less.
