IMC did the equivalent of cardinal sin in the eyes of the clique: He turned on them. He turned traitor, threw his lot in with that-which-must-never-be-named, and, just to fucking drive home how IMC has bigger balls than the entire Rat King put together, fucking personally apologized to every single person he had attacked on CON's behalf. He has had zero shame completely undermining everything they ever worked towards and vetting every piece of information that condemns them.

But this isn't why Davey hates him so.

No, that's because despite committing the worst possible sin one can commit in the eyes of the clique, IMC has gone on to be successful. He works at Heatstreet, he still has credentials actually worth paying attention to, his articles get tons of legitimate press now, and he's become a major pain in the ass that the Rat King simply cannot ignore - yet David, always the truest of believers, is on Randi Harper's own GGAutoblocker list and is treated no better than Nora's other orbiters. His history of loyalty was for naught, his proclaimed virtue a sham.

I think I've said elsewhere that the ratking people are post-partisan in the sense they don't believe their enemies are partisan enemies, they're just 'garbage people'. So Davey & co just hates the idea of Ian being successful. Ian was supposed to be punished....somehow....and the universe is meant to curve towards justice or something. All of these guys are like this, they tweet incessantly.

Still, at least Ian got a better cosmic deal than Ethan Ralph.
