During this talk, most people take away obvious facts, the most obvious being that Alex Lifschitz is fucking insane, and not only fucking hates Gamergate, but will go to absurd lengths to white knight his Waifu, to the point of wishing bodily harm on players of GTAV and pontificating for minutes at a time about how anyone who does not recognize Depression Quest as the work of Godjesus Bearchrist is human refuse.

More astute individuals, however, will note one very specific part of Lifschitz' speech - specifically, at 6:25:

“I’m a AAA producer. That’s where I live. I've seen the emails come down about E3 demos and press junkets. And I’m line level in the producer pit. So chances are, I’m the one booking your flights, your bar tabs, and spa treatments and catering and rooms full of HDTVs and Alienware and razor keyboards with neon fucking undercarriages… and none of these are about the game.

We’re applying you with payola. We’re not just expecting you to not be impartial, we’re fucking banking on it. And then we have the gall to demand your impartiality when it stands to work against us.”

After this, Lifschitz goes into a long-winded rant about how he expects the attendees of this verbal slurry dump to do the right thing and essentially do exactly what the clique expects of them because culture or whatever. But the important point is the very context of the above quote.

See, Lifschitz claims to be a producer (he isn't), and claims to work in the AAA industry. He did, but as nothing more than a low-level functionary, and nothing more. Why do I bring this up? Because in this particular pants-shitting rant of his, he did one of two things that are immediate career enders. He either broke an NDA and revealed information that was supposed to be proprietary (firable offense at the least), or he was talking out his ass and just shit-talked his previous employers, which likewise was a fucking retarded idea.

Whatever the case, Lifschitz reaped what he sowed, and was soon outcast from the industry, leading both he and Quinn to bemoan how he couldn't get a job in "the indistry" now that he had essentially fucked his own career up.

I've never watched the gtaV video solely based on the cringe factor. I imagine his interpersonal skills are shot from being a spoiled rich kid.

As for David S Gallant: Gamergate as a mass movement has been over for well over a year. I've said I think these guys are still going to be referencing this movement in 10 years time. It's like an insidious Illuminati instead of a bunch of spergs who took video games so seriously. This is their war where their enemy is simultaneously a bunch of basement-dwelling losers and also domestic terrorists.

I'm kind of reminded of why I gave David my ongoing nickname I use for him, "Daveykins."

If you're not familiar, it's the chosen moniker of the first lolcow I ever encountered, who has a history of similarly bizarre behavior, whose first name is also David, and whose last name likewise ends with a G. He honestly has David Gallant beat on both charisma and likability, mind you, but the two otherwise have enough similarities that I feel the moniker is apt.
