A map of data centers in the Midwestern US.

Data centers cause unprecedented pollution, not just to their immediate area.
They poison the air and ground water.

Often do what's called, "Dewatering" in order to drying out and reinforce the foundation.
This depletes the ground water which means nearby well water and it fills up with toxins that are picked up from the construction site.

The fires from Canada being an incompetent shithole weren't enough and now they want to further pollute some of the best farm land in the country.

Is anyone else alarmed by this? Just an off the cuff thread.

Personally I moved to the Midwest to live a quiet and peaceful life, not be choked and poisoned to death.

Any thoughts?
 
Data centers also consume so much electricity that they can mess with the local power supply, basically by creating small alterations in the frequency of the voltage that gets to your home due to the bad harmonics, and thus messing with their internal clocks and other functions like that. It's already a big problem in north VA, where a lot of data centers are
