It's really weird watching this kind of thing happen to an Asian guy. It's like if their parents don't do the stereotypical Asian thing and stay on them with all the pressure to kick ass in academics, they don't know what to do. There's never a Plan B.

Yeah but Derich is an actual retard so there's no saving him no matter how hard you try. There's a term for people like him in China and it's "Adou" or 阿斗. This was the childhood name of Liu Shan, the emperor of the Shu kingdom during the Three Kingdoms period of China and son of Liu Bei. He was a terrible ruler and he may even have been an actual retard. Thus, when someone is called Adou they're implied to be a dumb motherfucker who is simply unable to succeed at anything no matter how much outside help they get.

I'm guessing Derich doesn't have any siblings. Yes, he is mentally fucked up and you can't help that, but he probably wouldn't be nearly as bad if his parents didn't totally shelter him from life and he had some regular kids around him his age that told him "no, you don't fucking go trick or treating at 18, Derich."

The kid seems to have been raised by the internet as well.
 
I assumed it was his sister interviewing him in that video, didn't sound old enough to be his mother but maybe it is. What other female would even do that with him?

In the 1st few minutes Phillion refers to someone called Dr. Tony Huge. I know this is a reach but is this the same Dr Tony Huge/OIC or someone posing as him. I'm seeing some similarities, doesn't OIC talk about excercising a lot and hooking up with girls in Thailand.
