idk I guess i'll address this as its the only person who seems to say I've banned them and been a whiney baby about it. Yes I've banned @DiabeticShitheadPhil because his posts were constantly of a low quality.

Being that I don't really do the whole ban on sight shit, I tried to message him, but his messages were disabled so I made a post just asking that people try to post with a bit of quality.

When I say "low quality posts" I mean he was posting shit like 3-4 word replies, reaction pictures and videos and stuff that just didn't add to the discussion. I'm fine with reaction videos and stuff like that but it has to be timed well. Granted, there are times where I don't understand what someone is referencing, so I also go by how people respond via ratings and in this case they were fairly negative.

He was already banned from the megathread by another admin probably for the reasons shown above.

I guess he didn't want to take a look at what he was posting with a criticial eye and told me "no" so it is what it is. I don't really care to keep them banned provided I have some good reason to think they're going to just try a little harder with the quality of posts.

You might ask yourself why I don't just ban people straight up instead of pussyfooting around it and being as lenient as I am. There are quite a few people that I'm sure people would love to see banned, but they don't really shit up every single thread and every once in a while they make a very valid/coherent point that really adds to the discussion (regardless of if people don't like them).

And yeah, there's a lot of people I don't agree with or may not actively follow or read all their posts, but its a discussion board and unfortunately discussions often times include views and opinions besides your own. I don't really gain any value by trying to shit on people that post things I don't agree with (countering points and offering other opinions isn't shitting on someone imho unless ur phil lol)

As for @DiabeticShitheadPhil yeah some of his posts were enjoyable, but there were a large number of low quality posts so I based it upon that and seeing as they didn't want to even give it a try to be more selective with what they're posting.

Believe me there is a legitimate anger coming from people that seem to be mad that the mysterywoman saga is playing out on here and there's very little say they have in it unless she decides to post elsewhere.

Then they post shit acting like they're not reading through the exact same threads themselves or listening to the same fucking YouTube videos.

That's right, if you want to talk about DSP you gotta be a card carrying DSP detractor cult member. It's a fucking 2000 page thread with a dedicated subforum, of course people are going to analyze stupid shit and look at dick pictures.

They seem so incensed by all of this that they actively want the best story arc ever to not come true just so they can point and say "hey they were wrong, even though they said its not 100% confirmed but plausible!"

As for why people *obsess* over him? Like SOK level? My best guess is that many of them simply are too easily consumed by their hobbies. The majority of them need a good slap, I assume. A moment forced on them, where they realize the level of their investment is silly and they need to step back. The SOK dissolution was that moment for a lot of people.

Tevin said something recently in one of his videos. About Phil's only real talent was demonstrating how not to go through life. But that despite this talent, many people would make his exact mistakes. "Sometimes people still need to have it be them who fucks up before they really understand." Gifted is just autistic. He'll never understand. But someone who gets casually shamed by a friend when the friend sees how much time and effort gets wasted "detracting" might only need that.

(Personally, I firmly believe that, as long as they don't get him killed or anything, Phil deserves his insistent swarm of screeching, fact-checking, moralfagging A-Logs -- whatever their reasoning may be. I appreciate their :autism:, even if I could never envision doing it myself. Think of it like being a garbage collector, or a Wikipedia editor.)
