Kaede dies like 4 hours into V3. Did the guy become totally obsessed with her and somehow not learn that you spend 90% of the game as Shuichi?
And assuming he played the game blind this guy means that his friend really became that obsessed with her in the span of like four hours?
Also, it's not like it's solely Kaede whose life is "worthless" because the entire V3 cast are just random people who got brainwashed into characters and got brutally murdered solely for zombie reality tv ratings. Hell, Shuichi isn't even the in-universe protagonist, it's Keebo. Did the guy even finish the game, or did he quit after chapter 1?

Is there any archive of any completed or unfinished game? These sorts of shitshows sound hilarious. But I also have morbid curiosity about the writing quality of roleplay killing games.
It means you have a "kinship" with a fictional character. This can range from I really like this character, to I have a spiritual connection with this character, and in the most deranged cases, I am a reincarnation of this character so I get up to dictate what the true canon is to everyone else.
PS. Anyone here know about the drama behind the cancellation of Danganronpa Rebirth? It used to be one of the more popular >fangans and with a high-ish production value... which made one chapter have a production ETA of around 2 years lmao.
I think one of the devs leaked the the whole plot or something?

DR has three finished fan games. Danganronpa Another 1 and 2, they're made a Korean guy and are considered to be the closest thing a fangame has gotten to the actual games. The other is Hyper Danganronpa H20, which has been covered earlier in this thread.
Everything else on the wiki is pretty much vaporware or in dev hell in the case of Eden's Garden but I haven't seen anything drama-related worth mentioning. I figure worst case scenario you'll find typical behind the scenes infighting but if anyone wants to go hunting then go ahead.

"Danganronpa 2x2" was announced on the Nintendo Direct earlier today. It's a remake/remaster of Danganronpa 2 with some additional content. It includes an alternate scenario with different victims and culprits.
I'm assuming this new scenario is about as long as the main game, given the "2x2" name.

Otherkin. They were a kind of funny plague that got big around the early 2010s in their "current" form, and they are the very thing the old attack helicopter copypasta was making fun of. Youtube video essaysists and the political class keep claiming it was trannies as the subject, but "sexually identifying as a wolf" was an otherkin thing before they shifted from animals to random characters or historical figures/real people.
It died down for a very short bit of time in like the later half of the 2010s but came back with a nightmare level of infestation in the last 4 years or so, partly due to the casual usage randomly somewhat devolving to just "i like the character a lot" for some people.

Someone asked if fanmade Danganronpa projects (fanganronpas) can be discussed here. Since an amazing development has happened, I figured I briefly summarize an insane situation regarding a Fanganronpa that recently fell from grace.
Tetro Danganronpa Pink is an audio drama fanganronpa created by Von Babbitt (powerword: Brooklyn Moore) where sixteen seventeen year olds (this will be important later) are kidnapped by evil scientists and tortured under the supervision of a supernatural rabbit, Monomoko.
What made Tetro Danganronpa Pink so popular? It wasn't the mystery, because it's all terrible. It wasn't the writing, because it was also shit. It certainly wasn't the "art," which was blatantly traced from NovelAi. In fact, let's take a look at our amazing cast right now!

Anyway, what really drew the audience to Tetro Danganronpa is its copious amounts of fujobait! These days, the Danganronpa fandom, especially the English-speaking Fanganronpa community, is filled with retarded he/they fujos. If you want to appeal to retarded little girls, add in gayslop and rake in thousands from your kofi!
For those who aren't aware, I'll give a brief summary of the first chapter and the general plot.
Tetro Danganronpa doesn't follow a singular protagonist, it's a half-hearted ARG that follows audio records of the characters hanging out and being affected by the Masterminds. The prologue gives a look into their lives and has them interviewed by a mysterious staff member. After that, their memories are wiped and they're dropped into the school, but I don't think they explain the memory wiping thing (and if they did, it was probably in a later chapter.) The first chapter's main conflict is between Sasaki Hitomi, a student council president, and Hiroaki Nakamigawa, a fashion designer and the writer's favorite. Sasaki wants the group to use a vent to potentially escape and Hiroaki opposes her without offering any kind of alternative or really anything of value to the group. Anyway, a whole lot of nothing happens until we get to the motive, No Sleep/the Morning Games and the crux of what is so awful about this fanganronpa. Essentially, it uses cheap shock value in place of character development and for the gratification of the author. In these games, the cast has to do the following:
1. Get slashed/branded/drink mystery drinks/not eat
2. It is revealed that one character got raped as a child, and that's the stinger for the episode. Very classy.
3. Hiroaki, the writer's pet, makes fun of Sasaki for getting statutorially raped. No one really cares, but they do care when one character is revealed to have cheated in a previous relationship.
So blah blah blah they get tortured a bit and manage not to sleep for three days (which should be impossible) until Sasaki snaps and kills a girl and gets executed.
The rest of the chapters (summarizing):
Chapter 2: Motive is that Adrenaline gas is put in the school to make everyone irate. One character beats the fuck out of the writer's pet. One character's tiger goes crazy and kills a girl. The trial is stupid. We learn that the cheater guy was justified because the girl he cheated with leaked his nudes and his gf was abusive.
Chapter 3: Based girl beats the fuck out of another one of the writer's pet, a shotabait character named Wada Masanari. The motive is that it's going to get colder until someone kills. Based girl murders one half of one of the fujobait pairings and kills one of the writer's pet moms (metaphorically speaking). The trial is stupid.
Chapter 4: The motive is that the lights go off. Wada gets a newly AI generated sprite.
One girl decides to kill herself by burning to death and through technicality, the chunni guy is the killer and gets executed.
Chapter 5: The Morning games are back and the motive is that they will stop powering the medbay/cold lockers. The killer gets his eye slashed during a torture game. One girl confesses her backstory of being kidnapped by her dad's friend and abused/(implied) raped by him until escaping. The victim loses her braincells and falls for the obvious trap of the killer. The students almost get the answer wrong in the class trial, but the rabbit mascot snitches. The survivors get interviewed again and allowd to leave.
Post-Chapter: It turns out the writer's pet, Wada, starved to death in the post game. If you read the supplementary material, it is revealed that he would've trooned out if he had the opportunity. This is not so much as implied in the video series.
The creator made another, somehow worse fanganronpa with "Tetro Danganronpa Blue." It stopped uploading in the third chapter due to the controversey, but a voice actor uploaded the full series on their account. It returns with even more blatant AI and a worse plot! I won't recap the entire thing, but I'll give some fun tidbits.
- There are two scenes that heavily implies two (male) characters have had sex. One of the characters goes on a prolonged speech about his sex life in a supplementary interview. All the characters are underaged by the way.
- The blind character undergoes shock therapy and is forced to say that he's useless because he is blind.
- Another character, whose backstory is essentially that he was forced into sexual slavery by his father, is forced to say 'his body belongs to his father' and pisses himself while an evil doctor calls him a good boy. This has been deleted from the full audio and will likely never resurface, but take my word for it.
- One character has their eyeball poked out and another has to eat it.
- One character is revealed to have Middle Eastern decent, was smuggled into Japan illegally to sell drugs, and is a sex slave.
- Not one, not two, but five of the male characters were sexually abused in some way.
- One character gets killed like moments after coming out as bisexual.
- The evil doctors cannibalize most of their staff (on screen!)
- Most of the girls are lesbians. No lesbian stuff happens, but it ensures they can't be paired with her yaoi boys.
ADDENDUM: I forgot to mention to elaborate on the supplementary material. On the twitter, there are leaked 'chat logs' and audio logs between the doctors behind the killing game. They are mainly irrelevant, but you should know there is a ton of rape and yaoi.
Anyway, she got exposed for using traced/AI art and an avalanche of people began shitting on her. If you want to see her amazing art, look below! There is a loot, so I'll just give a few highlights of things she did.
1. Grifted thousands of dollars from her kofi using AI Generated art.
2. Grifted another seven hundred dollars from her kofi by promising to draw hot yaoiz, only to paywall it on her kofi when she was done with it.
3. Spoke sexually to people under the age of eighteen, and even sent pictures of her cleavage to said minor.
4. Wrote/drew porn of her underaged characters.
5. Had an alternative account that would find her supplementary ARG stuff for the community, glaze herself, pretend to be middle eastern, and also pretend to have Crohn's disease.
6. Had an alternative account where she pretends to be a Japanese man with a husband and a child consulting Von for her writing Japanese characters (which she fails at).
7. Had an alternative account where she pretends to be a doctor and constantly glazes Von.
8. Had an alternative account where she pretends to be her own best friend, harrass other community members, had a cropped porn pfp in a community full of minors, and generally be obnoxious.
9. Had an alt where she pretended to be black and said the n word a lot, lmao.
10. Made a 'spicy' audio of her underaged character and when called out, said it was no big deal becuase she was turning 18 soon.

The rabbit hole goes deep with this particular creator, and there's so much from so many different sources. I don't really want to waste my life anymore than I already have saving it all. In somewhat recent news, a fairly promising upcoming fangame has more than likely kicked the bucket after six years in development due to a minor scandal handled poorly.
Project Eden's Garden is a western fangame that was mainly known for having very good production values, to the point of looking identical to the actual games themselves. I can't speak much on the writing part, but I will say that while it certainly has a very obvious American vibe, it has little to no Tumblr-esque stuff that some of the fangames and projects that have been posted in this thread have in spades.
Prologue was released in late 2022 and chapter 1 was released 2 years later in late 2024, with the latest chapter probably having a potential release date of this year, but recent events have rendered the project FUBAR.
The voice actor for one of the characters was in a relationship with a fifteen-year-old girl, and this was known to one of the project leads who found out a few years back. The lead kept this knowledge to themselves, and the project continued on with no issues.
Fast forward to today, a minor member of the dev team* learned of this and leaked the information. And upon the news being leaked, the majority of the dev team left, including the majority of the VAs, the art director, the head composer, and the project leads, leaving the future of the project looking extremely bleak to put it mildly.
*This person was also working on another fangame, Kill/Cure which has been in development since V3 came out and hasn't put out chapter 1 btw.
The death order and the plot outline got shared with some of the VAs, and they plan to release what will probably be a radio drama that will be a TLDR of what would've happened in the game. Currently the main priority for the remnants of the dev team is shilling a petition to have the VA who fucked up banned from voice acting.
This is a project that has been in development since 2020 and seemed to be doing fine despite the slow-release schedule, and it was thrown in the trash because of one VA's antics.
And would you like to know the funniest part about this?

The character the VA in question voices has a grand total of three recorded voice lines and the character himself has a shy and reserved personality. Meaning simply recasting him and moving on would've been an extremely minor issue.
