That aspect always gets underemphasized in online debates. If they never meet any kind of resistance they are obviously going to take a lot of room. To any Nigger acting out there is a white liberal counterpart that is unwilling to push back or call them out. It's the same problem with the refugees in Europe, yes arab refugees tend to be dull and Islam is quite aggressive, but refusing to punish foreign criminals in an appropriate manner is what drives crime up like crazy around here.

For clarity, the 1992 LA Riots had a lot of other causes. People tend to blame the Rodney King verdict, but that was only one of the things happening in LA at the time. Like 2 weeks before the Rodney King video came out, some black girl went into a store owned by Koreans. The store had issues with theft in the past, and the lady at the counter accused the girl of stealing something. According to the store owner, the girl got violent - violent enough that the store clerk pulled her piece and shot her. Lady claimed self-defense.

The State disagreed based on the video evidence - shitty as it was, of course, this is still 1991 - and she was convicted of voluntary manslaughter and given a 10 year sentence. Should satisfy everyone, right? Unfortunately, the sentence was suspended and replaced with 5 years probation, a $500 fine, 400 hours of community service, and paying out the funeral costs of the girl who got shot. This was the cherry on top of the historically awful Black-Korean relations in the city, and to make matters worse the appeal on the suspended sentence happened at the exact same time as the Rodney King trial. The Riots happened and we of course got the Roof Koreans out of the whole thing, but Koreatown got hit the absolute hardest in the entire city.

Koreatown eventually recovered, sure, but like over half of the damages done during the 1992 riots were on Korean businesses. It's a cryin' fuckin' shame.
