There is a lot of nuance to this case and it depends a lot on if the attacked was stalking Chud, if Chud knew about it beforehand, if he knew for sure the other guy was unarmed, what was said during the confrontation, body language, how many shots were fired, if the attacker was aware of Chuds statements that he did not want to fight or use his weapon beforehand etc.

Chud will certainly have a harder time if it was just some random street nigger and not a guy actively stalking him.

Thanks, I did not know that. That rule is a lot less explicit in Germany, it says you're only required to suffer "reasonable" consequences. In Teneessee it sounds like you completely vacate your right to defend your life the second you insult someone.

Technically it is. They'd muff around about warning shots, but he was under sudden and active assault, and even shot himself in panic. Also:
§ 33 Exceeding the limits of self-defense
If the offender exceeds the limits of self-defense due to confusion, fear, or fright, they are not punished.

He'd be cleared in any circumstance.
1. The gun was proportional to a sudden attack out of nowhere. They can't expect him to get into a fist fight with a grown man with unclear intentions, because that would mean certain injury and risk of death.
2. (From Chuds words) The attack was continuous and ongoing, no time for warning shots.
3. He was clearly frightened, since he shot himself in confusion
Provoked doesn't matter that much in Germany since whether it was reasonable for him to suffer the consequences is up for interpretation. If Chud genuinely believed the guy was going to stomp his brain out after he goes down, I still don't see him getting punished (in Germany) even if he insulted him.

I think nigger is less the thing to focus on here and more the phrase "are you going to chimp out" could this be interpreted as encouraging a nigger to "chimp out" did Chud ever say " come on chimp out" or something similar? Is it reasonable to believe chimping out includes violence or should it be interpreted to just mean getting loud and moving erratically?

I think it is ridiculous to microanalyze the justness of whether he was too rash in shooting a nigger when the standard for niggers is "did he think the n word?" or "is he a black guy we dont have a score to settle with? yeah, then fuck you whitey".
