Derek is the last person on earth I'd want to keep me safe. I don't know much about guns, but Derek always looks so borderline-incompetent when he handles them. He actually rather resembles a twelve-year-old boy who play-pretends an action hero he saw on TV than an adult who knows his way around firearms.
How is this guy still even fucking relevant, is my real question. Is he trying to revive America's Most Wanted? If so, he'll need to do more than rape cases, for starters...
What gets me about Derek is how he always tries to create content that promotes "good conservative American family values" (with some libertarianoid stuff about Marihuana legalization thrown in for good measure), and completely misses the point and fucks up every time. His "pedagogical" Cool Cat children's books and movie come across as nothing but creepy and raise uncomfortable questions about his "marriage" to Mama Cat, his self-defence stuff makes him look like a nut who shouldn't be handling guns and actually could serve as an argument for stricter gun control.
I love how he brings in a DVD box with lots of green into his green screen shot and just the level of verbal tic it doesn't look the lest bit professional
A friend of mine did ask me if this was someone making fun of him at first.
What I think it worrying however, is how he thinks women should always carry around shotguns or generally have weapons with them and shoot down anyone who even looks weirdly at them.
I get the feeling, Derek would be one of them, if he'd then hit on a girl following his advice.
