I feel like it says a lot about Derek himself. Just like Sonichu gives you a small look into Chris' brain, so does Cool Cat give you that for Derek.
Daddy Derek's whole career is typical of Hollywood wannabes/washouts. Big talk about lawyers and "how many producers I know." You see these pathetic cases at every meetup at W's bar on Hollywood and Vine. They all try to pitch you some shit like Cool Cat as "a bankable franchise."

It's pretty much as deluded as CWC's love quest -- but guys like Derek are pretty common in Hollywood.

I think what makes Daddy Derek stand out, though, besides the sheer awfulness of his movies, is his complete lack of self-awareness. He still thinks that Cool Cat is the most brilliant children's character of all time, despite all the evidence to the contrary. Most people would have caught on by now, and it should be obvious to him that he has no real fans, but he hasn't, and it isn't.

How did it get funded and how did he get the famous people in it?
You can shoot Cool Cat for a budget of less than $500.
Erik Estrada and Vivica A Fox probably acted just for the SAG fee (since it was probably pitched as a charity/social matter project). Booking that kind of talent is pretty easy.
Finding a place at the Hollywood Christmas parade it's not that difficult. Guys disguised as Spongebob in front of the Kodak Theater are the usuals at that parade.
Living in L.A. for several years (like Derek did) gets you to meet a lot of people. Someone may lend you a fancy car for your movie, another will get you into an event where you can get a photo op with Mayor Garcetti...

Any kiwis live in LA? We should make an Internet bullying video. I can wear a cwc costume.

"CWC saves the kids"

Itll be a hit.
Just be on the background, wearing Kiwi Farms logo shirt, walking backwards after approaching derek.

The Gun Safety For Women video is gone.

EDIT: But fortunately, the Mace Scene video is still there

Tonight is the Hollywood Christmas Parade.
Cool Cat is not announced.
So I don't know if it'd be worth it to go there and stand in the cold for hours to see if Cool Cat comes up and yell at him "Fair use!"

"Cool Cat, star in a crappy direct-to-DVD movie about bullying or something"
"OOOHHH, CAN DO!!!!"

Are there any pics of Derek's convertible with all the Cool Cat stickers all over it? The shots of it in the movie aren't that clear

Best I could find.

Also, I found this article in Vox from 2014 -- four months earlier from its supposed release.

And yes, I'm aware that bottom-of-the-barrel filmmakers alter the dates on Imdb to make people believe they're current and their film has not being ignored for months/years.

What the hell is "NallsAviation.com"?

It took me to this site, which looks legit. I'm just wondering what it's doing on the Cool Cat Convertible. Did Daddy Derek have to sell out ad space?

Yeah, looked at that site before. It's probably ad funding for the car and the filming. It mentions a Cool Cat Harrier but I see zero mention of that on their site, anywhere. Note there's also ads for the Sunrise Ford salesyard as well

Cool Cat loves you! It's just that no one ever specified how he loves you. For example, lots of people love steak.
