I mean, the parallels between them are kind of uncanny. I think Derek Savage is Chris's long-lost father.

Part of me wonders if Derek ever visited Virginia about 34 years ago and spent a night with while Bob was out of town. Maybe they split a Q-Sand and had horrifying tard sex on Barb's couch. And for the rest of Barb's life, Chris would serve as an autistic reminder of that beautiful night.

After watching the Cool Cat video, it seems to me that he just doesn't know how to communicate with people (let alone kids). Just how much it talks down to the audience (even for a kid's show), the stupidity of the characters and the butt-kissing just makes it painful to watch. It's amazing how much he fails at it.

It was a joke. I wouldn't want Derek Savage or anyone else to do that, nor do I think Derek would. A page or two ago, someone pointed out that Derek seems to have a lot of barely-repressed anger issues, and I was making a joke based on that. Really, the whole thing was just a setup for the Erik Estrada "DERE HE IS!" punchline. I'm genuinely sorry if it offended you, though.

It's the hallmark of a good performance that you know what emotion the actor was conveying. That is, the character's motivation.

This is clearly someone who seriously doesn't fucking want to be in this movie. I get that feel. That's some Method acting shit right there.
