Also, I love how Derek portrayed Butch the Bully here. He looks like he's 37 years old and is evidently a complete slob, going by his ripped jeans and stained shirt.

I just saw the YMS review yesterday. Holy shit. I haven't laughed that hard in a while. And my friend pointed out that Cool Cat sounds a bit like Charlie Kelly. Actually this whole premise sounds like an It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia episode, except the gang would eventually give up while Derek here keeps trying. Bless his heart.

In a sense, I feel a bit bad for Derek. Maybe it's because I've read about so many awful people on this forum like Nick Bate, ADF, and manipulative Tumblrinas like Vade, idislikecispeople, and Springtrapp, that I'm so desensitized around non horrorcow lolcows. Or maybe it's because deep down, I'm kinda a sap. But whatever it is, I can't help but feel somewhat sympathetic towards him. Maybe IHE didn't mean to be A-loggy when he jokingly said that Derek was a pedo, but I can see why it would get under Derek's skin. But still. There was no excuse in regards to how he acted. Who knows. If he keeps this up, he'll probably become Tommy Wiseau 2.0. Basically someone who could've been sympathetic and oddly endearing but is overall such an asshole that you kinda just stop feeling bad for them.

Also I know it's been discussed in this thread already but I'm very curious to what his political leaning is. On one hand, he seems to have a hard on for the troops and his tweets during the Republican debate seem to imply that he's a republican. But he also is big on the environment and gun control. Man, Derek is sure an enigma.

I don't think it's an enigma if some people have mixed political opinions, some conservative, some progressive. BTW I think Derek isn't into "gun control" in the sense that he wants to abolish or heavily regulate private gun ownership, he's just very big on teaching people to use guns responsibly, which in itself is very sensible, irrespective on where you stand on the whole gun debate.

That said, the fun thing about Derek is that while his intentions are super wholesome (he wants to send anti-bullying messages to kids, teach them not to touch guns even if there is a gun tree in their garden which constantly drops guns onto their lawn, get them interested in sports, etc.) the way he brings these messages across is almost surrealistically failtastic. It's hard to teach wholesome lessons if they are uttered by a hyper creepy orange anthropomorphic cat played by an actor in a cheap fursuit and who is implied to be the offspring of Derek himself and a female anthro cat who looks like a feline blowup lovedoll.
 
The only thing I see happening in the gun movie is the actors are going to over act or underact or get a bunch of porn actors to play in the movie
 
I don't know if anybody else noticed, but I was keeping a bit of an eye on Daddy Dereks twitter to see if/when he would make it public again and noticed that a day or two ago, after his follower count sank to around 1950, it shot back up to ~2200 but still keeps dropping daily by a few.

Don't have any archived/picture evidence but still...

Well it could be fake followers as well, Twitter can purge followers which are bots.

I've seen that happen to fb pages with fake likes. The number very gradually decreases by a few or so every day. This plus the sudden jump from 1950 to 2200 twitter followers leads me to believe that they're bought. Perhaps Derek's been taking lessons in marketing from PR guru Hayden Black?
