I've decided to stop being a NEET and acquire a trade or skill that is marketable. If I wanted teach myself cybersecurity fundamentals where is a good place to start?

If you're done with being a NEET why don't you go work at a convenience store? They're paying people like $15-$20 an hour for entry level jobs these days. Then become an elevator repair person. Everyone's too much of a weirdo though, they just want to hide inside and work on their computer.

In a decade dude handing out chicken nuggets is going to be rolling to work at Micky D's with spinners on his Cadillac, one of the few remaining people with the social skills necessary to interact with real human beings over an 8 hour period.

God bless that man being able to deal with hungry retards for 8 hours without gunning the whole place down

I'm going to pretend this is real, because I'm too stupid to know better.

The easiest route is the CompTIA certification pathway. ITF+, A+ (2 exams), Network+, and Security+. After Security plus, going that pathway, do PenTest+, CySA+, and CASP+.

Here is a basic roadmap.

Professor Messer is the goto for CompTia exams.
