A bit of a reach because that author seems to be a whingy, pathetic drip himself. The art is, frankly, really bad.

I must say I find quite a lot that's said about DD in this thread to be reaching for them straws a lot. Anyone is prone to being bitchy, and I have been following her for quite a while. Not like I am a dedicated fan - I just like her art and agree with her on some points, then kinda roll my eyes at the rest. She isn't nearly as dramatic as a lot of people make her out to be, at least not in recent months.
But there is something I can certainly fault her for and that's her business operations. I ordered a couple shirts way back in 2013 when she first did pre-orders, and not only have I not received them, I stopped receiving correspondence about them. In spite of asks and emails, she ignores. It's almost been two years now.
If I ever did that to any of my customers I would be strung up by the gills. She does have BPD (and like actual diagnosed BPD, not Tumblrina BPD), but that's not something that should keep you from fulfilling orders in a somewhat timely fashion.

Yea I agree. I don't think there's really enough content for a proper thread. While she's a bit interesting at the end of the day she is another somewhat hypocritical tumblrite in a sea of thousands, nothing stands out too much for me at least. Not gonna speak for other people though.

Rough timeline on that whole spiel. She had two shirt rounds, one from 2013 and one in 2014. Stock from 2013 came in messed up because of the printers, so it was reprinted and sent to her. She had to go into the hospital around Christmas 2013, delaying things more. She said orders were sent. Eventually shirt round 2014 came by, and I had yet to receive anything. I pestered just to get told it would be done that weekend. Of course, nothing. She packed up and sent stuff for 2014's orders, and of course I am miffed because she should have taken care of her first set of shit. Thread reminded me again today to just demand a goddamn refund, but I bet my bottom dollar that I will not get a response.
She's really goddamn bad at running a proper business, even with the help of others. That is unless her business model included ripping off a handful of people.
I can only feel so much sympathy for her on the mental illness front. That ran out about 18 months ago. If you can't keep on top of your obligations stay the hell out of anything related to customer service.

Yeah the shitty art of the guy isn't really a factor. I'm a professional artist and I have some friends who want to be professional but simply lack the talent-- I give them honest and not bitchy critique, and help them. What Dragondicks did was pretend to be someone's friend (in the real world, not just online) and conspire to make a shit site on them behind their back. That is some horrible, inexcusable behavior. Having more artistic talent than someone doesn't give you a free pass to be a dick.
I understand the need to ignore someone's jerk behavior because their art is pretty. Hell, I'm still struggling with PurpleKecleon. The fact is DragonDicks is a terrible business person and a pretty terrible person person.

I think a large part of this is that cuteo is just not good at running a business. When she made her third (?) batch of t-shirts she promised and more t-shirts than she could make. It was like some third grade math problem gone horribly wrong: Cuteo wants too make 100 tee shirts and sell them for 15 dollars each. If materials cost 140 dollars and packaging costs 40, what happens when Cuteo sells 500 t shirts and can't handle the production costs?
A: delivers them 4 months late
B: messes up 40% of the orders
C: claims she's working on it, but things got slowed down due to STRESS?

Edit : serious though, I don't think she's a bad person. I just think she's biting off more than she can chew and is ill equipped to run a home business, and consequently gets herself into trouble with customers and the product management sites (redbubble, ect.) sites she uses.
The thing is that she ignores people who give her money because of STRESS that she should either put aside when handling her business or use a factor to why she shouldn't be trying to run a business.
On the contrary, she's a very bad person for many reasons. Probably the most (in)famous Tumblr hypocrite that is allowed to get away with it because of her cutesy art. Her scamming people out of money is only partially why she's bad though.
Yeah, so far, I think Dragondicks' thread is warranted. There's a lot of little things that just add up, and where there's smoke, they pinch back there's fire.
Also, if I may be so bold, I really think even what she did a few years back is still up for discussion. She is in her mid-30s now, and really can't be excused for those actions either-- it's not as if she was going through an awkward teen phase or anything. A few years back she was still a 30 something year old woman attacking men for liking the same shit she did.

A kid running into pony porn is a bad situation, and I wouldn't want that to happen. I understand her concerns about that
HOWEVER, a young boy running into Fluttershy saying "I hate all boys" is also a bad scenario too. I have kid cousin that LOVES MLP (he doesn't call himself a brony though), and he gets made fun of all the time by friends and family because it's 'girly'. I'm sure seeing any of these would upset him deeply.
I just can't stand that she judges everyone else and yet can't see how terrible she's acting. She may not be drawing porn of MLP, but she's contributing terrible things into the fandom that's scarring to children on a different level.
