There's a Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) that's a standard rating on hard drives. Anything beyond that estimate (in hours) is a blessing, usually these are in the thousands or tens of thousands of hours.I replaced my hard drive this year. I dont really understand computers, but a friend had told me that my computer problems were because my hard drive was failing.
It turns out my hard drive was a faulty model that had an expected life of 2 years.
I had been using it for 10 years.
