It has a very large fandom on reddit and other sites that are notorious for being woke and having a disturbingly large amount of users that may or may not be sexual predators, so I guess that explains it.

The show itself is woke as fuck too, they flat out say things like "Trump endorsing national pantsing day" and the feminazi raised by a dyke mom "don't you miss the Obama's?" I swear if Netflix didn't recently add Scooby Doo on zombie island I would have cancelled them this month

I’ll admit, some parts of Big Mouth I liked. The mom cheating on the dad with a woman and not understanding how that messed up the daughter? Pretty good story concept, I’d watch a show that was just that. Two kids who’s families are radically different in terms of sexual openness and how that changes both of them? Many things to explore with that. Some kid who has an absolutely horrible home life and just thinks that it’s normal? I’m down for that.
It’s just so terribly written and disgusting that I can’t find any reason to continue watching the show. And I’ve heard the argument that it’s supposed to be gross, and it just doesn’t hold up for me. It doesn’t matter if it’s supposed to be like that, I still don’t like the show for it.

I mean yeah there's an idea here but the show needed to be less like family Guy and more like Bojack horseman. Actually have the characters suffering the consequences of their actions and not have everything focus on comedy. Like if big mouth was a competent show the guy town episode would show the bachelors and divorcees as miserable without their wives. Maybe even have some be incels planning Elliot Rodgers style revenge attacks but nooooo. It's all singing and dancing when you're single living in a shithole hotel turned into a. Incel compound

I think that’s one of the more infuriating things about that godawful show. Despite how unbelievably horrendous it’s attempts at humor are like 95% of the time there actually are some traces of interesting ideas littered all throughout it. If they’d stop with the creepy kid sex shit and the whining about toxic masculinity and actually worked with what they had then maybe it’d actually earn the disproportionate amount of attention Netflix tries to give it. But no, instead we get a little girl talking to her cooter and dressing in crop tops and booty shorts to fight slut shaming, a scene of a boy fucking a thanksgiving turkey that goes on for far too long, and some awkwardly-written episode dedicated entirely to the magic of consent that plays out like some shitty tumblr story.
