Same, I was almost in one growing up (was at night) but have never seen one.
The photo I posted is of a legend...the Jarrell, TX tornado of 1997. Everything about that tornado went completely against conventional wisdom regarding tornadoes and it was incredible for its innocuous beginnings followed by developing into a monster F5 that caused the most extreme tornado damage ever seen. Nothing has topped it, not even Guin in 1974 (the tornado that according to anecdotes made Ted Fujita consider an F6 rating), Xenia or the Moore-Bridge Creek one in 1999.
At the time this was the only photo of its transition from rope to wedge but some new footage was found in 2018 or so showing how it happened.
