On Steam, you used to be able to force people to change avatars by giving them an HTML link to one of the default pictures. This exploit existed for an entire month, where you would regularly see entire servers and groups of people who were tricked into having their profile image turned into the avatar.

Steam also does this these days if you set your profile picture to a black square png of the size 200x200 for some reason.
