Also the Switch's hardware is a clusterfuck, that's why it gets delayed ports, if it was on the same architecture as the other consoles they wouldn't be delayed. It's not blurred at all.
Problems with Switch ports are less an issue with the architecture and more that it's so criminally underpowered that simply turning down the resolution and shaders doesn't cut it. Devs often have to come up with completely new implementations and workarounds to get games to even run on the Switch, something they don't want to do mid-development while trying to push out a release for PC/Xbox/PS all of which can be developed simultaneously and just need some slight individual tweaking at the last minute.

While on the surface Switch versions can often look very similiar (aside from graphical fidelity) there are often much bigger differences under the hood. They should be though of more like how Gameboy/3DS/Wii used to get a game titled similiarly to the home consoles with an identical cover art, but the actual game isn't the same. They're not really ports in the strict sense.

Alright here's a question, why the fuck did people lose their shit over the AMOGUS reference in Neo The World Ends With You, but not the fucking Chevy Chase reference in the Gay Bongland Ace Attorney Collection?

That was far more egregious because he wasn't even alive yet when the game took place. He wasn't even a Dr. Who so time travel is fully out of the question.

My personal opinion is that nobody knows who Chevy Chase is because he hasn't had a good movie in 30+ years, but they know Among Us so that got the bigger hate erection.
What was the reference?

I've never heard of the change before you mentioned it. Trying to search for information about brings up the notoriously bad original localisation where they changed the setting to America.

I can't even find information on a new release at all. All my results for Ace Attorney Collection bring up a re-release from 2019.

If you're right, word will get out eventually.

However, I suspect you've gotten furious at your own strawman. When you say
Neo used the word sus and imposter
it's like saying "Hitler was an art student that people didn't like". You're missing the point so much I have to think you're doing it deliberately.

They should be beaten, dragged into the streets, beaten some more and then finally shot when everyone's arms are too tired.

I feel that way about any fucking dumbass localizer who thinks they're hot shit.

Agreed, I mean to mention Chevy Chase but not John Candy or Chris Farley, these clowns don't know comedy.

Also looks like Fatal Frame isn't the victim of Censorship but corporate greed.

Literal wet t-shirt costumes, bikinis, and crossover DLC outfits. So The OG Outfits got removed but then replaced by stuff just as revealing.

The Ryza outfit looks odd since she has a pancake ass.

The Chevy Chase thing is from the Great Ace Attorney Chronicles that just released.

Also there's literally nothing wrong with the localization of the original Ace Attorney game. Well, maybe not literally nothing, but it's fine.

Even in 2021, I’ve found myself musing over the fact that the original Gray Brick Game Boy DMG-01 is still the best thing ever made, but I was born way too late to experience it first hand.

Just look at it:

A3FE5C9C-4127-4150-9662-F931CE63AE15.jpeg

It’s both simple and fun at the same time, and the design looks like something that could fit the minimalistic art view to a tee. You could the same thing about Atari consoles, the Commodore 64 and (to an extent) the Turbo Grafx16, but the GB really has stood out in its own mainly because of again, it’s design.

I’m noticing more YouTubers years later making videos doing these play nothing but Game Boy challenges, and some of them already have families:

Granted that is a Game Boy Color, but the thought still counts here in this case

See first video above

Still, I’m not too sure if we’ll ever get a Game Boy Classic down the line where they may make it smaller, or slimmer than the original version.

Though, I wouldn’t be mad if they gave us a Game Boy Pocket re-release, just like they did with the NES & SNES mini consoles

Finally once the last Cosplayer whore is sacked and their revenue stream runs dry, it will herald the return of the grognards. Who will banish these whores and man-whores from the face of gaming by their robust stench alone.

In other words, back to subscribestar, manyvids and Pornhub for actual pornography if you actually bother to read the article instead of leaping on clickbait. I get it, we should rejoice that ethots are finally getting in the last two months this was brought to the table. Still if we are going to keep this gaming related, this is why storefronts like Steam allowing porn is a matter of time before they get in a similar situation that fucks them in the ass. And no, hiding your recommendation doesn't change the fact you have porn games.

Ebay already cracked down, Steam has the highest booby count of existing and banned games compared to every other platform. So if Steam is going to turn on them it wouldn't be a surprise but on the other hand it would be one hell of a K/D ratio.

The Switch also looks like it's working with a lot of long-running franchises with loyal fanbases. I know at handful of people who bought a Switch just to play Monster Hunter Rise and/or Breath of the Wild.
Lot of japanese franchises at that, if I may add.

There is also a massive disparity between Sony and Nintendo 's current strategies. Nintendo has embraced the mid-tier of the nippon market that the transition to HD hit them really hard until the Switch gave it a thriving ecosystem to subsist in. This is why the big N has no issue to advertise indie directs every few months and low- to mid-budget japanese games frequently appearing in the bigger showcase presentations (such as Rune Factory 5, Crayon Shin-chan, Ender Lillies, The Caligula Effect 2, Super Robot Wars, Danganronpa, No More Heroes 3, etc). The advertisements in return are cultivating an audience that is willing to take more risks and try out a whole bunch of different things, from the newest japanese game in a long-running niche series to the newest indie title that looks even slightly interesting. Considering the Switch's absurdly high software attach rates everywhere in the world (including Japan), they seem pretty happy with what they get when they experiment with those games, leading to this kind of software support for the platform being further perpetuated, and customers being exposed to an even broader array of games through a consistent stream of releases. In contrast, Sony has decided to go all in for worldwide blockbusters only (which appear in relatively few numbers too), and while smaller games can be still allowed on the ecosystem, they sure aren't given any attention by both SIE and the PS users.

In other words, Nintendo has become what Playstation used to be in the past by highlighting everything. Meanwhile, Sony is a warped form of the past Nintendo that was known to make use of a “premium software” strategy, with carefully curated hits (1st-party and 3rd-party alike) that were published and marketed. It's amusing to see how they each seem to be imbibing what the other was like in the past, albeit SIE is doing everything in its power to alienate the japanese market and burn a lot of bridges with japanese developers.

Also, this is the second week in a row where Switch games entirely dominate the Famitsu Top 30 software chart , which is this time truly unprecedented in the history of the japanese game market so far. And it should be noted the country has been undergoing the week of the Obon festival holiday. I said it before, but this kind of situation should be expected a lot more often in the future, with the rare eventual combo-breakers like the PS4 release of Tales of Arise in September.

It's going to happen a hell of a lot more frequently than that, Guilty Gear Strive is close to half a million copies sold and that came out in June. You're judging a console's first year output and assuming it will stay the same. When historically things pick up the second and third years and on average playstation consoles last 8 years. Considering that Strive itself can't run on switch since the system is so low powered, any company that uses Unreal 5 like Square Enix just compounds the issue. The Playstation 5 is going to look very different once Dragon Quest 12 comes out on it and Final Fantasy 16 and the second part of 7R get released for it. Atlus is already leaking shit for Persona 6.

Considering that sony is resurrecting twisted metal and GT is apparently deep into production they're not just sticking to third person games either at this point. If anything is a small genre it's car combat. I wouldn't really count Ape Escape out either if it gets handed to the Astrobot people. Ratchet's success apparently signaled that people want more 3d platformers. And Nintendo has wanted people to forget that they used to put out more than 1 mario game in a console generation.

And for people who are still bitter about stuff like God of War here's the comparison between game sales between ps3 and ps4
ps3
sonysales ps3.png

and here's ps4
sony sales.png

See all those first party titles near the top and how much they sold? It's a no shit reason why they would suddenly focus on first party development. The PS1 and PS2 didn't have those kinds of numbers either. Those are first party sales numbers that are comparable with Nintendo's own software.

The Last of Us on PS3 sold 7 million and GT5 did 11 million, on PS4 God of War did 12 million on the PS4 and Horizon did 10 million, Uncharted did 16 million, and Spiderman did 13 million. The difference is night and day with software sales for first party titles.

apples and oranges, valve is a private company which doesn't have to care about advertisers and shareholders, and it's big enough that payment processors think twice before making a fuzz about pixel tiddies.
if onlyfans wants to become the next tumblr to look more attractive for potential investors and buyers that's their own retardation.

always felt that's more due to the type and interval of nintendo games. if you don't care about bing bing wahoo there aren't usually that many options, hence the constant port begging. on playstation that's probably even worse but it got more high-profile multiplats in return.

Pornhub cracked down on "non verified" porn a while ago. The site was largely abandoned after that.

I remember this because a guy who made porn animations was happy at the mass ban, thinking it would drive more clicks to his animations. Then he got hit by the ban bot. He went through the verification process and reuploaded his content (complete with disclaimers about consent), but his "only fish in an empty pond" strategy didn't work as he hoped. He moved to other sites after a while.

Steam allowing porn is a matter of time before they get in a similar situation that fucks them in the ass
Maybe, but I doubt it. Trying to cut off Steam would be like trying to cut off Amazon for selling porn and sex toys. Valve didn't even have PayPal for a long time back when that was pretty much the default way to handle buying things online, so I think they'll manage even if they are cut off.

That's a bit of an overstatement. Pornhub is still the #8 most visited site in the US. Among ALL sites, not just porn sites.
Also Mindgeek owns all the competition anyway, aside from the pirate sites that stream full videos.

it's rumored Twitch is now considering doing the same with it's swimsuit streams
Twitch effectively already did this, at least to the "hot tub" streams. They're now a separate category, and that category cannot be monetized. Though they still get the direct simp bucks, but I heard the big titty streamers consider it not worth it anymore because they'll get those donations regardless of what they do.

doesn't mean much on it's own, where was it before and what is the actual difference in money they made?

it also depends on what type of porn we're talking about, some well developed 17yo loading up topless selfies in the amateur section is still technically CP, an issue OF doesn't really have since they have access to the payment details, however with that comes another problem that it can be considered sex work (since you pay for someone to perform), which is another no go for payment processors.

it's still a stupid comparison to steam since the only ones who even care about it are some low effort baiters on /v/ or retarded journos who don't understand that everyone else knows you have to specifically look for it and click away two disclaimers. it's like walking into a sex shop and get offended there's sex stuff on sale. the only real headlines were the ones pointing out valve's piss poor policy appliance where benign stuff got removed but much more hardcore stuff is still available (which is a good indicator it wasn't caused by some payment processor else everything would've been purged).

Honestly I'd like to see Valve get fucked with. Just simply because it could expose weaknesses in payment processors/credit card companies and what they can have influence on and what they wind up having no influence on in the long term. Having cracks appear in the system and finding out that certain payment processor policies were just clout with nothing to back them up if someone outright refused to play ball would certainly be eye opening.

doesn't mean much on it's own, where was it before and what is the actual difference in money they made?
Well it means that it wasn't largely abandoned or an "empty pond", if it still receives more traffic than Instagram or Twitter, which is all that I claimed.

Anyway there isn't any noticeable dip around December 2020 in the public data and the site's traffic (relative and absolute) has steadily been rising year after year. This is just conjecture but I feel like the "porn apocalypse" mostly affected niche fetish communities, who are also prone to talking about porn online, where as vast majority of the site's users will just whack it to anything the site recommends and didn't even notice.

The thing about Valve and payment processors is that neither really follows any rules. Valve pulls porn games seemingly randomly with no consistent pattern, and payment processors suddenly start having an issue with porn only if there's enough public pressure. It's really hard to predict either, because they're not sworn to any rules or governed by any outside authority.
