Hahaha, does this affect the game companies too?
Just personal computers apparently
The state had recently published a paper looking into the power efficiency of computer gaming. They claim in their findings is that computer gaming in California consumed 4.1 terawatt hours in 2016, costing roughly $700 million USD in energy bills. They list consoles with taking a bulk of the emissions at 66%, and desktop computers at 31%. In spite of this, consoles are seemingly exempt from the bill.
A screenshot of the disclaimer spread on Twitter. While some had worried about the bill being an issue for game development studios and AI researchers, this regulation only seems to affect personal computers. Servers, workstations, and the aforementioned gaming consoles seem to be unaffected.

That's a shit reason to ban gaming PC's. Last time I checked, I paid for every watt I used. so why would the government care?

A more paranoid part of me would say this is GamerGate's fault for standing up to the propaganda and another means to control people if they are denied their outlets where they can freely express themselves by calling some 12 year old a faggot and that you banged his mom.

If the bills are paid it shouldn't matter. Maybe they're worried green energy can't keep up with the demand and that makes green energy look bad? That's my realistic outlook on this.

Incidentally, Microsoft and Nintendo's American corporate headquarters are in Washington and Sony's is in California. Although this is more the usual mix of politicians wanting to look good and corporations (more Google and Apple) wanting to add a huge hurdle to potential rivals who might out-innovate them.

Because they're too fucking lazy to build more power plants and update the grid so apparently you have to suffer. Incidentally, this is the sort of thing where you either vote at the ballot box or vote with your feet, and if you're doing the former, that means you show up to townhalls and engage in the political process and start grilling candidates where they stand on the issue.

That's a funny thought. They like to screech about how Gamergate created the alt-right and got Donald Trump elected, but what if a single-issue PAC started specifically to repeal laws like this and support alternate solutions (i.e. build more fucking power plants and you won't have this energy efficiency problem)? Call it PAC-Man or something, because this is gamers and even boomer politicians know what Pac-Man is. PAC-Man ends up lobbying politicians, dishing out millions in campaign donations, and delivering tens of thousands of votes to less-stupid politicians solely because they targeted gamers. Gamers. A group of people who will sit for hours, days, even weeks on end performing some of the hardest, most mentally demanding tasks. Over, and over, and over all for nothing more than a little digital token saying they did.

Nuclear plants are some of the safest plants out there (long as you don't build them in stupid places) and offer more power than coal, hydro, and geothermal plants but they cost money to make and Democrats hate spending money because they have no idea where it comes from. Just look at how much Biden's $15 minimum wage is fucking up the country.

Cost per Kilowatt hour in Cali is nearly 20 cents, where I live it's about 7 cents and we're using fucking coal still. Manage your resources. It's bad enough the country wants to ship out their shitty milk to other places all because they can't manage their dairy farms and complain when they don't get 100% of the market.

It can if they build the infrastructure for it, but the Left can't build anything, they can only tear things down.

California is one of the fastest growing States, but it never touches it's infrastructure so things will fall apart. Instead doing the right thing and build on it, they instead want to punish a minority of people.

I can't wait until you can't have dual or triple monitor set ups. That will go down well with their game dev and graphic designers.

>he doesn't know

And come December 9, 2021, "computers with high-speed networking capability, multi-screen notebooks, notebooks with cyclical behavior, and monitors with high refresh rates" will be covered by the rules.

this or next year doesn't really matter, california decided to go full retard and the slippery slope is real.
at some point people are gonna forbidden to scream too loud because it waste energy too..
This is the same state that made straws illegal and if you want to graduate from California State University you have to go and take their ethnic studies course.

This is what the true faces of innocents looks like. No forced smiles, no sanpaku eyes, everything is genuine, real smiles, nothing needing the hands of corporate beurocracy to fix or ruin, it is a picture at peace with itself, a tiny sliver of truth in the long march of time.

It is everything that "diversity" isn't.

That was in 2013, Burress talked about Cosby in late 2014 and he is largely credited as the whistleblower. Things then started rolling in 2015 and that's when Cosby really changed in the eyes of the public.

So what's the meaning of Cosby? He was a longtime meme before the allegations. Cospop and Cosbycoin were popular at the time of that photo. There's even a tag on buttcoin.org for Cosby, he was used to troll the early bitcoin people.
Latest entry October 2013, before the rape stuff, it was all still a meme back then, I don't think they're celebrating date-rape or sitting on insider information that the public didn't know.

People are already losing their shit over the Neptunia/Senran kagura crossover game.

Except nothing has happened and it's being entirely developed in partnership with Sony itself since day 1, because both IF and Marvelous want to branch out into anime series again and Sony is the main worldwide distributor pretty much now and forever because of how much fucking money Mugen Train made.

There was a stability fuck up that caused a month delay, because neither of the IP holders have a history of releasing games in working order. That caused many to scream they don't care what the game plays like, just as long as they can see panties.

It's generally doesn't look that much different than what came before, everything is thematically appropriate considering the source material.

The main guy who left Marvelous really wasn't some kind of visionary either, he literally put in the least amount of effort possible. So it's been kind of funny watching them lament the companies continuing Senran kagura without him at the helm. They compared it to Metal gear without Kojima. However the crossover game somehow looks the most polished out of any of the actual Senran Kagura games that were made under him.

It's going to be interesting to see the comparisons between this and Utawererumano ZAN II. They're both the same type of game and they're both playstation exclusives,
