That is because Blue Dragon..was not good. I played it, it was "Really fucking garbage" Dragon Quest.
I know which is why microsoft pandering to trash games will not be a fruitful endeavor.

Coom Brigade Stuff like Softcore Fanservice shit and Libtard SJW Diversity trash is both one and the same. They require a list of checkboxes in order to meet an agenda that puts itself before the gameplay systems themselves. For example Idol garbage has every girl be geared towards some type of fetish, every SJW character is geared towards whatever minority they want to represent. It's the same logic in the design process that cripples things from attaining a solid gameplay expereince.

Either one getting censored like Last of Us 2 did in japan or Senran kagura won't be a net loss for anything. At the core they're bad games. Neptunia is a series that's pushed out near yearly and those games have gotten to the point where they can't even run without crashing routinely or creating a no win save state that's bugged. A game that's that unstable or broken is fit for the trash pile, it's shovelware. Zero care went into making it a worthwhile product.

This happened in anime years ago where the only thing that sold was basically softcore fan service shit, it killed many other genres in the process and the basic function of the shows became about pushing merch and not the show's quality. it diluted the appeal to anime. It was short term gains front and center and in the long term it did not pan out well.

There's also the fact that Franchises supported by merchandise and franchises created to push merchandise are two very different things.

And gravity rush's main problem was they sunk a ton of money into 2 and nobody bought it. Meanwhile they sunk a comparable amount into God of War 2018 and that was one of their first big hits for the PS4. That was effectively a turning point for them to focus in on the Adventure genre. Aftewrwards came spiderman which they later bought insomniac specifically for.

because sony was retarded, thinking people enjoying it back on the vita and then ps4 were a HUGE audience for it for some reason. beloved "classic" doesn't necessarily mean mainstream appeal, it would be like spending 200 million on a sequel to the room.
and personally they fucked themselves with the game as well, since it was a ps4 game it needed to be a "real" ps4 game, when the first game was a nice and tight vita port that didn't overstay it's welcome with good pacing, GR2 felt like a slog in parts and dragged on way too long.

GIven how much of a failure the XBone is..them trying to get any niche market to pick up their shit is not surprising.

I assume their success with azure and online service shit like office made them refocus on that, only way to sell gamepass is to have games, and the more different ones you have the more people it appeals to. added bonus it can be played anywhere, so platform doesn't matter, catalog does.

the difference is otakus are spending money on the shit they like, lots of it. how many woketards bought last of us (or any other recent idpol game like young blood) to make it a success?

last of us 2 is also a multi-year development game from one of the most expensive places in one of the most expensive cities in the us, positioned as a flagship title. no one gives a shit about a niche game with titty ninjas with an appropriate niche budget. however the people that do like it do so in addition to all the other shit they get, not exclusively.

it doesn't even have anything to do with fanservice, it's the exact same shit sony pulled with the ps3 where they pissed off all the shooter studios "because it needs to be 3d!". outside of that sturgeon's law exist for a reason.

Gravity Rush 2's team was mostly the fault behind it. It plays very close to a super hero games but so much stuff holds it back. The missions objectives are not very varied(i.e. collecting furniture to store in a truck, time trials), the enemies are kind of lackluster, and kat also controls like a brick when she speeds up making precise hits or paths annoying. You can compare it directly to Spiderman due to them having very similar mechanics, both require scaling an open world, both have abilities that involve throwing shit back at the enemy, and you're going to be spending a lot of time in the air. Spiderman had much more varied mission objectives and used it's worldspace more creatively with finding hidden objects as well have having a large variety of enemies, he also has much tighter controls.

Also it's not really Otakus who are spending money on coomer merch. It's the broke brained shut-ins who tend to buy that. Stuff like Mecha is mostly bought by Otaku, but they're not going to drop 349 bucks on a statue that can have it's clothes taken off. Especially in America, most of that stuff is also going to be mecha or normal action figures. It's not the same type of stuff that series like ikki Tousen promote.

And yeah Libtards will buy stupid shit in droves, Darth vader Dutch ovens exist for a reason. Consoomers will buy up the lowest grade shit imaginable.

I remember Thunderfoot's criticism of Anita Sarkeesian that she seemed to only like children's games. IMO it's not really "feminism" that's the problem so much as immaturity. Yeah gamers are overgrown adolescents, but SJW's are overgrown CHILDREN. That’s what political extremists are at heart, children who want big daddy government/megacorporation to give them everything they want in return for nothing. Gamers and fanboys at least buy things, SJW's only bitch on social media.

ActiBlizz has been further progressing on the woke train. Originally there were the Blizzard Diversity meetups and the segregated female only panels. Now we have trans characters in Shadowlands (ala Andromeda) and a media push marketing Shadowlands on LGBTQ+ inclusivity.

Which in my mind meaning they (the now woke marketing team) are hoping to sell the expansion on diversity pandering rather than any concrete features or fantasy of the actual game itself. If it's anything like Andromeda it will bomb hard because their diversity hires aren't able to turn out the content they want because they are too busy on Twitter all day sperging about progressivism. They have little work ethic or pride in their craft. The wokeism is just the signal to tell you to get away.

Just let the game die.

MMOs as a genre have been stagnant and WoW itself has been just limping along. WoW was created to nullify the grind and make it an adventure not a job, but now what it tried to not be originally it has now become.

The people behind the game are shallow souless faggots. You're not getting the same level of effort that was in Vanilla to WOTLK.

I still say it had neat boss themes at least. Shame it was just shallow Japan pandering in hopes more than 5 people owned an Xbox 360.
With boss themes they did have the guy from Deep Purple sing a boss theme but aside from that? I remember seeing it once or twice when it was new and the game was promptly forgotten compared to other titles as far as I remember.

I really liked the final boss theme even if it was the token JRPG final boss stuff.

I should really at some point start collating the woke women in senior positions in gaming companies.

She doxed a white dude and his kid over a fucking disagreement on Facebook thinking he was that African Immigrant that ran over those two protesters. Never got fired for it. Anyone asking she resign or be fired or some form of punishment for trying to ruin an innocent man's life and bringing his kid into it got banned from the forums. Even the lefties of the forum were disgusted by her.

Fuck ArenaNet.

if anyone is dropping 350 bucks on a lewd statue it's the hardcore nerds and otakus. no normie shitter is putting that amount of money on the table on something you can't even have in the living for your girlfriend to bitch about. it's companies directly catering to the people that are willing to pay money for it, which is the exact opposite of the woke crowd which is loud but nothing else.

as for that dutch oven, it existing doesn't mean it sells, nor that it's priced to even attract to that "too stupid with money as long it's star wars" segment. it's for wine aunts and suburban mums that want to be "geek", no one else is gonna drop $400 for that shit. except now star wars is sooooooo 2019, not even normalfags care, so why should those housewives and faux geeks?
because that's another thing when you cater to the mainstream: it's fickle as fuck, if you don't constantly grab their attention and have the mind share (which is expensive, since every other company is trying to out-scream you constantly) they'll wander off and consoom other stupid shit they don't need. meanwhile the hardcore nerds are customers for pretty much life if you keep them happy because it's exactly what they want and a lot of time can't get anywhere else. sure, they won't generate millions, but enough for a company to survive and grow from there. plenty of other companies tried to "broaden appeal" or attract a "wider audience" over night to sell more shit as a "lifestyle product" only to crash and burn because while doing so turned their patrons away from the very same products they supported for decades. case in point: star wars.

Fuck ArenaNet.

that company was always a fucking shitshow, I'm surprised they even got rid off jessica price and her beta defender. maybe because they messed with their streamer shills. also lel "senior designer for unannounced game" when ncsoft just last year kicked out 1/4 of the company when they couldn't produce shit for years that wasn't riding on the coat tails of a better game.

Honestly I always wonder why users like Marisa takes the middle path of being the moderate between the hardcore weebs with hateboners for anything from the west and the SocJus who don't need to explain shit to the media illiterate. It wins you no favors and makes the people arguing for it utter pariahs because weebs don't like them rationalizing censorship and SocJus don't like anime and think anything from Japan is pedoshit.

Because Idolshit ruined anime for a good long while. Not only did it bring out the shut-ins to spend their Japanese SSDI on coom bullshit.

It also brought out the goddamn Chinese.

Ah, one of those jaded types, but I feel you on the Coomzoomers who refuse to even hear anyone out and follow the narrative of communist Californians and their hypocrisy.

Idolshit would've been good had anyone making the game or anime, was a real fan of the actual idol industry. You could've put together a deep management game/anime storyline, not unlike the Japanese Sports Manga where you had to find sign people to work as an idol through various and areas "Vocals" "Choreography" "Fan Service" "Public speaking" etc... Really get into the nitty gritty of training and trying to secure certain composers and writers and sponsorships to keep your company above the water. The problems that arise from having massively popular group could be that you now have to hire extra security, you have stalkers you have to deal with. Idols mental health.

Kind of like that anime I saw about the team of Mangaka trying to make sure they reach the deadline each month for Shonen Jump

A Weeb indie dev did exactly just that, it's called Idol Manager.

Like most typical western takes on anime, it air the same "This game is so much better because it actually takes a serious look into Idols instead of the brady bunch/Full House family sitcoms" smugness expressed only by self aware weebs. Not wrong mind you as even the worst rivalries in idol anime never ends with someone taking one last dip into the nearby river.

I think that points to the problem really, in most of the entertainment industries. Theres indie devs or writers with great ideas out there. But the people who are getting the industry positions are the ones who are the people who are aligned politically. Which keeps on diluting the skillbase. And the products being churned out are getting worse and worse, especially in the Western market. Since the key development areas are centered around largely "woke" metro centers.
