I think too I may have focused a bit too much on the novelty that made me think of this topic. This is about something more than just Call of Duty, and for that reason I felt it more appropriate to post a thread here than to shit up the Call of Duty thread. There are numerous other examples to take, from numerous angles. For example, as an atheist, how should I feel about supporting the movie Silence? The movie itself is very well made, but I can't bring myself to support the conclusion of the film nor the man who wrote the original novel.
Does the political disagreement over-ride the enjoyment of a good movie?
But I'm not talking about the enjoyment of something, I'm talking about supporting it. Talking about it positively and purchasing it. Thinking yourself above that is just disenfranchising yourself. In that instance I've already enjoyed the movie, but do I go onto to support it?Only a retard is so beholden to his values that he finds himself unable to stomach even the thought of opposing viewpoints. If your political disagreements with a medium are so severe that you find yourself not enjoying a movie, then don't watch it. If you can enjoy art for art regardless of political implications, then enjoy it.

I sure as fuck don't care whether Chick Corea is a Sci-tard or not when I'm listening to his music. Life's too short to care that much about that. But I'm not talking about the enjoyment of something, I'm talking about supporting it. Talking about it positively and purchasing it. It's the 60 dollars I ultimately spend on nothing that disenfranchises me the most. How do I maximize myself from all of this?Yes, because if you genuinely believe your 60 dollars spent on COD BO CW is enough to disenfranchise yourself, then you deserve to be disenfranchised.
It's mostly about maximizing the incredibly little bit of power you have. $60 from one guy is indeed meaningless when you have 500 million other guys, much in the same way your vote is ultimately meaningless compared against the majority of Americans. At what point does it start to matter though?I can't rate you autistic and dumb, so please accept dumb.
You wrote a mostly reasonable spergpost which won't matter even a bit as hordes of bored 12-year-old gamers are going to nag their parents until they finally give in and buy the fucking game, and they won't care about anything beyond gameplay. Voting with your wallet doesn't mean jack shit with companies like this, however, it might matter to you the same way as it matters to me - $60 not spent on a shitty vidya gaem means $60 more to spend on booze.
And I can pirate the shitty vidya gaem later if I'm that bored.

Mega-corporations like McDonalds and Wal-Mart are hardly going to miss your money now, but at what point could they? At what point will it actually matter to vote with your wallet?Saw the thread title and I thought about having a nice discussion about the economic impacts of buying local, small businesses, creating a sense of community and pride, the environmental impact of containship pollution, etc.

Another great point is brought up by @break these cuffs

When you become the same kind of annoying, loud minority as the current hashtag WOKE crowd or a popular clout-magnate like that retarded fake dietetician Food Babe and you can mobilize your millions of followers to have any corporation bend to your will.At what point does it start to matter though?
The point of voting with your wallet isn't to hurt megacorps, it's to help businesses that align with your values.Mega-corporations like McDonalds and Wal-Mart are hardly going to miss your money now, but at what point could they? At what point will it actually matter to vote with your wallet?
But by extension it will also harm those who do not align with your values, as they are losing out on a potential customer. Which is why I said not using your money at all is only hurting yourself, of course there are many ways to use your money beyond just consuming products. The point of voting with your wallet isn't to hurt megacorps, it's to help businesses that align with your values.
How then would you go from the position you've described where "they don't listen to you at all" to "they will bend to your will"?When you become the same kind of annoying, loud minority as the current hashtag WOKE crowd or a popular clout-magnate like that retarded fake dietetician Food Babe and you can mobilize your millions of followers to have any corporation bend to your will.
I'm talking as an individual. Your dollar means far more to Joe's Butcher Shop than it does to Walmart. Amazon losing a customer means fuck all. Movements like boycotts are just social media flexes in society today without appreciable action. It needs to happen organically from the ground up.But by extension it will also harm those who do not align with your values, as they are losing out on a potential customer. You should just shut up and play your pirated games, let everyone else reflect economic interest for you :^)Pedantic and trivial view point aside, we should vote with our wallet indeed when it comes to video games.
Last of Troons 2? Boycotted for being a virtue signalling story about some troon that has the personality of an hormonal piece of stale bread just so the VP of Naughty Dog could self insert banging it.
Battlefield V(agina)? Ignored because of how they fucked up history for the purpose of virtue signalling and twisting history to fit their demented vision. Especially after the tard that came out and said "Don't like it don't buy it".
Star Wars Battlecucks? Fuck your microtransactions.
Blizzard-related games? Yeah go tard signal somewhere else along with your snowflake developers, tone deaf retarded game leads and ignoring your customers entirely.
If more people stood up and gave them the middle finger, they would think twice before churning out this bs.
