God damn, dude, never fucking apologize. Why do these dumb motherfuckers keep making this mistake?

This will just chum the waters and draw more sharks.

He should have just said "lol, my ex-wife? Fuck that bitch, she's a lying whore." and left it at that. If you're going to be "canceled" you might as well do something fun on the way out.
All that was said by the guy who worked with the husband and allegedly witnessed an incident, not by the husband himself. The husband Jick's apology was a lot less 'I don't remember it like that, but I must be wrong because I'm a straight white man,' and a lot more just 'it's lies', though there's a separate tweet that was dug up where he apologised for, basically, not being the best husband.

Why do people complain about politics in video games, especially when video games have always had political elements, atleast in the last couple of decades. COD4, Bioshock, Fallout, etc. all were political games (or had politics as a major element of its story or whatever) and they're all considered classics. It seems to me when people complain about politics in games it's either because A) the political side of the game wasn't handled well (in which case, why would that mean politics in general shouldn't be in games?) or B) the politics or viewpoint the game supports differ from said group-of-people's own viewpoint.

Obvious bait being obvious, there's both A and B being complained about, but all of A gets lumped into B by people who want games to be more diverse, intersectional, and overtly supporting their agenda. Much of the people who 'want politics out of games' are using it as shorthand for A; most of the people who say 'all games are political' are usually really either saying current games are all, to them, B, or want games to explicitly endorse their viewpoint.

There's a world of difference in the experience of a game that has you fighting against a populist demagogue and one which explicitly makes it all about how evil Trump and his evil voters are out to murder you. And forcing obvious current-day politics into a medium expressly designed for escapism and then complaining when people would rather play pretend in a more pretend world is the domain of fart-sniffing scolds whose primary requirement for any entertainment isn't that it entertains, but that it coddles their worldview.

That they can't seem to distinguish between reality and fiction (see things like the complaining about the use of white phosphorus in a game, or repeatedly linking games with violence and misogyny when 98% of the evidence doesn't support it) is just a nice cherry on top of why it's so galling to have people try and demand their politics and only their politics should be present in games. Because they're arguing B as well, while pretending A as an argument doesn't exist.

so what are the political elements of pong? an allegory for the cold war? tetris an introspection into communism dropping literally commie blocks on you? donkey kong picturing the struggle of italian immigrats in the construction sector?

inb4 "hurr those don't count". is fortnite just an ancap simulator? dota a deconstruction of the bipartisan political system?
"SOME GAMES WEREN'T POLITICAL"
"THEREFORE GAMES NEVER INVOLVED POLITICS"
Holy shit, your post is so stupid it circled around to become the most intelligent thing ever written. Next you're gonna say movies were never political because Paul Blart Mall Cop 2 wasn't. I'd post a brainlet reaction image but apparently that's against the rules.

Name your favorite games and I guarantee you I can find atleast one that involves politics in some way.

I Love You Colonel Sanders is a visual novel that talks about the dangers of modern American Imperialistic capitalism.

Panty Party is a shooting game that discusses the classism and racial divide of women, those who want to wear beautiful panties and those can only afford cheap panties.

Yes, every game is political and every game should be political

Oh yes, who can actually forget the game with the best political message of them all: Dead or Alive Xtreme 3!!

maxresdefault (1).jpg

From the very start of the game, Dead or Alive bombards you with a very chilling political message, that only beautiful girls are set on the easy mode of life and can live a life of luxury in a very private resort, where there is a huge chism of beautiful girls and the ordinary looking ones.

Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 is an allegory of the modern women, who compete against each other for material gain to buy pointless beauty products and clothes, and degrade themselves by perform sexual dances in competition against other girls to appeal themselves to men. Players will see the stark political message that a person's worth in this world is the money and material wealth as the girls will only notice you if you have lots of money. And the very grim truth that no person can reach upper class through honest day's work, and instead, climbing through wealth class can only be done by gambling, where there is no guarantee of winning.

Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 might be the most political game of the century with its depiction of society and classism. A message that women and men should take heart. So stunning and brave.

"IF GAME TALK ABOUT POLITICS IT PROPAGANDA HURR TEH LIBTURDS HURR GREAT THUNBERG HURR!"
It's like I'm talking to a caveman.

Funny thing is I actually pitched an idea about how much would megacorps in Shadowrun would pay runners to geek a fictional version of her. At least 10k per runner is the price on her head.

See? Injecting current politics can be fun if you do it from a certain angle.

That's irrelevant. That's like saying "Name one POC woman in the 90's comics industry." There were many, but they were operating within a meritocracy so their presence was organic.

Of course there are loads of games that involve politics, but the games that win fans and marketshare are games first and foremost, not ideological vehicles. Leftists aiming for muh representation don't seem to realize the importance of prioritizing mass appeal above agenda peddling. They're motivated to spread the word of their church, as opposed to being motivated by the satisfaction of producing quality via hard work. Modern leftists think they can brute force the culture with shame, fear and other petty emotional thumbscrews. They give us white fragility, toxic masculinity, all things that are inherently negative. They want to make people feel bad. Look at Greta, FFS.

Problem is, complete access to information has rendered this age old strategy of mass indoctrination completely obsolete, completely irrelevant. You can't just push ideas with lies nowadays, not like you used to be able to back in the 1980's and below. Saying that 'everything is political' does not excuse the left from having a complete lack of style, panache and understanding with regards to the human animal. You're all fucked because you have no flow.
Why the fuck do people still engage with Rand/Ron Pol?
Like seriously he's been doing this for how long now?
For fucks sake he's a gimmick poster and his gimmick is pretty fucking obvious.

Real talk, I know it's futile, but sometimes I enjoy the exercise.
And sometimes, its just fun to punch down retards, its sometimes better than video games

I approve of all of your posts as a fellow person of culture and someone who nearly choked while laughing at them. Holy shit those were great.

list all the giant tiddy games that aren't fighting games or volleyball
What do you mean by fighting games? People like Senran Kagura, but that's more Dynasty Warriors than Street Fighter.

What do you mean by giant tiddy games? There's games like Gal Gun Double Peace, Bullet Girls, and Gun Gun Pixies, but if you go the standards of the games press and woke lefties, even Bayonetta, Atelier, and Monster Hunter are tiddy games.
