More cancellations.

First, the woke Perfect Dark game, the one where you do parkour and fight the Carrington Institute has been cancelled.
The comments on the trailer are full of recent posts of being sad it was cancelled.

Meanwhile, Subnautica 2 is also in trouble. The details are vague, burried in corpo speak, but it appears the team has been fired, or is at risk of being fired if they don't hurry up and get the game out already.

I was trying to find somewhere to post this that was somewhat relevant. It's this goth guy talking about the left, 9 days ago, after Charlie Kirk was shot.

For one. There is something wierd to me about seeing a goth guy, in 2025, that isn't a far left wierdo. But that's not why I'm posting it.

He talks a good bit, about LWA (Left Wing Authoritarianism), and a study on it. I feel like I saw the study a while back. It's one of the best explanations I have seen for the behavior of the far left.
That along with collective narcissism, but really they kind of go hand in hand. The papers really sum up the things we have seen over the last 10 years pretty well. Forcing people to either agree with their ideas or silencing them,

Then he talks about how left wing goths have "infiltrated the culture", which is something echo across, seemingly almost everything that centers around online discourse of some kind. One that I happen to see more of is the open source community. Which has essentially seen the same thing. The people move into positions of power, say "everything is political" when people try telling them, that we don't care about politics, we just care about free software. If they don't give in to their beliefs, they start with attacks on their character, and a lot of the time specifically in the FOSS world. The far left groups were actually making up fake allegations, that had no evidence provided to try removing people that opposed their political ideals. Which if you ask me is even more disgusting than the tactics I've seen these people use in some other places. Along with the run of the mill accusations of "fascism", "nazi", "reactionary", and "transphobe", not even giving the real nazis and transphobes credit for their hard work. Those are just the labels they use to gather an online lynch mob against people not caving into what they want.

This just makes me think that these people are being played. You have this group of people who are crazy and unstable and you can trigger them by pressing certain leavers to cause them to act out and wreck things for everyone. The wrecking things is the desired outcome. The Government or what ever authority is actually in control is done and ready to pack things in, so they use these people to crash everything to the ground and reset everything so they can rebuild in the absence of the old society whatever they want next. The study he mentions makes it seem like there is always this potential lying in-wait in the population of the country, any country, like the potential in a butane lighter to spark a flame. You take this butane group in the population and spark them with social justice and outrage and they destroy burn down the country for you. You don't even have to drop off a pallet of bricks half the time because they bring their own. Simple as.

I've seen this happen a few times since Kirk got shot where people who talked about whatever have suddenly pivoted instantly into nothing but right wing slop videos. It's been successful for this goth guy I guess, he could barely crack 5k before.

I’m pretty sure this was an intended consequence. You identify a problem, get attention for naming it by a certain group of people and are financially rewarded for continuing to pump out the content. It’s how the left and tranny spheres took over YouTube.
 
Supposedly the new Pokemon game has anti-homeless benches, and a villain that hates walkable cities. Any truth to this? I've seen a screenshot of the homeless bench, but that's it.
 

This is too old to post in the politics general thread. I think I actually saw this around the time it came out, but once I realized in the beginning he was actually serious I stopped watching.

Going through it. You see some popular ideas that get repeated. That have been used to justify a lot of the bullshit we have seen from the modern left.

Saying Fascism is incoherent, and doesn't have a consistent set of ideas.

Conflating national socialism with fascism (which is part of why they say the first thing, because the two aren't the same even if there are some similarities).

Because of this mixed up group of ideologies they are looking at, they conclude racism is a core part of facism, which isn't necessarily true.

Also these people just see these as far right ideologies. And especially national socialism doesn't fit neatly into that label at all.

Then they go and try to apply this modified loosened definition of what a potential fascist is onto other people (not seeing that this label will fit the same people using it). Even though what gets called a racist is a lot of the time a liberal capitalist, that has almost nothing in common with fascists and national socialists.
 

I've spent the last 20 minutes looking around for somewhere to post this that felt appropriate, and I don't fucking know.

Anyway. this movie sounds like absolute shit. I mean, cmon groundhog's day but this time its a nigger getting shot by a cop. Wow how do they come up with it?

There is an old Russian anecdote, from the USSR era, it goes like this:

Now, this was a rough translation and a rough verbage - but it highlights the problem with this argument (About any concept) - if you claim a phenomenon is not clearly established, why are you referring to it by a specific term?
 
Not sure if this should be an entire thread instead, but I thought this was funny if true. Apparently the Indie Game Awards dipshits are running and hiding because they are terrified of Asmongold shitting on them and have decided to do a private stream via Patreon to avoid his gaze. Didn't work because this was immediately leaked to his subreddit. Some schmuck who livestreams about videogames in his attic should not have this level of influence, but the fact that he does is hilarious.
