Updating the Culture War thread with a fellow salute:
Hashimoto has been with them since 1994, and is largely responsible for being the producer for games that were popular for the late 90’s to 2000’s — Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts being just two of the biggest ones.
Even the famous devs behind Super Smash Bros. and NiER offered their well wishes and respects:
Considering that Square Enix’s ethics department has been in the news regarding whether or not the recent successes of the Final Fantasy remasters were going to lead to censorship and the like, it’s almost surprising how he was able to stay on for over 28 years. He literally is a part of the old guard that entertained most American fans of RPG‘s that kept them floating with revere, success and (of course) money for years.
Still, at least he was thankful for his time with them:
