People are getting hung up over the no faggots thing thinking it's a win, but the laws and guidelines involved are pretty major.

The CCP wants global companies (who work with Tencent as example) to follow their guidelines the world over and to make all distributed media to China's standards. This would mean the Chinese standard becomes the world standard due to them enforcing these laws. So if a company makes products in China for example and has a partnership with a government backed company all their products must reflect Chinese values or else they get kicked out of China.


And if you think this sound entirely insane and ridiculous, well Venezuela did the same shit with banks and it blew up in their face. The Chinese government has already caused major problems for private citizens restricting the ways they can make money. What caused the Chinese economy to take off in the first place is that they were allowed to make money in the private sector, but now that's being taken away. So Commander in Chink thinks that China is World Leader #1 Forever now and any moves he does will not screw anything up. So under that mind set all companies must exist with China's blessing or they will be wiped off the face of this earth.

You see the longer Authoritarian regimes go on the more they believe their own bullshit, their biggest weakness is that they can't take criticism(because let's face it any bureaucrat would rather lie than tell the truth if it meant keeping his head at the end of the day) which means any and all info they gather will be tainted. Anything fed to Xi will have the bad parts wiped out or erased and it will just be a bubble of positive reinforcement and this is a government with zero checks and balances. So the snowball effect happens and stuff will collapse.

I always figured that since most of the red meat diversity shit shoehorned into media is often tertiary to the point that if you blink you miss it (lesbos in the last Star Wars for example) most of these giant companies can have their gutter oil deep fried dog and eat it too by adding easily removed/edited content for western audiences and then taking a knife to it for the chinks.

They're in the process of banning foreign media, so the whole logic is Foreign companies will have to become Chinese(and therefore part of the CCP) if they want to do well.


Everything in China will have to be made in China, and that's going to go about as well as Mao instructing farmers what to grow. It's not an open society so people will have to forge numbers on papers in order to stay alive. The problem always arises when resources are not on the ground which the information says they are.

It's the whole worst parts of both capitalism and communism meshing into an authoritarian state that if we knew even half of what they do to their own people, we would never smile again.

If just being against muslims and hating teh ess jay dubyas is enough to ally with a force of straight up tyranny, that's on you. Me, it's not enough.

They'd replace all the bad shit with worse shit if they had control. It's the same shit that the Kims did to North Korea, you'd still get a state run religion that treats you like the devil for not accepting your place in society as livestock.

I occasionally see establishment critical RW-leaning people hold up China as being this alien race of hyper-competent 4D chess players who will effortlessly destroy the west, but you have to remember that they're ridiculous frauds. These are people who build gigantic residential developments out of literal trash as make work programs and habitually gloss over fuckups because saving face is more important than doing anything properly.

CCP bugmen and American corpo fuckheads deserve each other.

Also lest anyone think Chinese censorship would be any more tolerable than woke censorship, game developers have had to do things like remove all instances of skeletons and skulls because the chink morality police will cry foul over the most benign shit.

Yeah unfortunately they have nukes and while most of them probably wouldn't even work, enough would to cause Armageddon. I see them fucking up so badly they back themselves into a corner they can't get out of, maybe over something that isn't even obvious (like Taiwan) but just something where they keep escalating until blowing up the entire world is better than losing face.

Eh even that's debatable, the legislation wants them to look ideally like the frumpy laundry ladies from the Mao era posters. It's to promote modesty, not beauty.

Nah, they want beauty. I haven't heard them outlaw plastic surgery yet and they still prefer people be presentable and look good on the front stage. Frumpy women don't look good to anyone despite however the West tries to push it.

I mean, China has been laughing their asses off on Weibo and such at how we celebrate ugly people.

Their leadership wants beauty for themselves and the commoners can get stuck with the dregs.

The whole system of rules isn't for the leadership it's for the regular ass people. So they're going to be promoting mao style babushka ladies because that's the lowest bar to clear when it comes to pushing up those birth rate numbers. Essentially take one for the team, your government says you must.
