I don't know if I should have posted here or in the Venezuelan megathread but when Russia won't rule out militairy deployment to Cuba, Venezuela. It's time to ponder some questions unless AP manufacture fake news as well.
It's almost like they forgot Vietnam happened; and Afghanistan is right on their doorstep, but they couldn't make it happen during their go-round either.

I say let them try. The cartels are an entirely different monster than the muj or Taliban. I don't think they'd go about biting the hands that feed; along with being more than happy to fight as our proxies for pay (and/or immunity from prosecution).

Would be hilarious that the commies here get vaporized by proxy just because the russians want Ukraine, i embrace the nuclear fire, it would be a improvement

Btw i forgot to ask how is in Venezuela. I read something now after young men you have women, elderly and others walking away from Venezuela to Columbia and other places. There were some estimates for population losses but i don't trust UN they are always conservative.

Yeah its pretty bad from what I hear from people. No figures either though but I doubt anyone has them.

The problem with Venezuela is not that its socialist, what ever you may think about it. Its literally a mafia state now. Especially Maduros wife and anyone associated with her and her family is neck deep in corruption and even most of Chavezes old ministers have either fled the country, put in house arrest or are in active opposition.

edit: since people find this interesting I can add something more. The commander of the presidential guard that defeated the coup against Chavez has fled and is persecuted by Maduros thugs, Eva Golinger that is a journalist and founder of venezuealanalysis.com ( a propaganda/positive news site about "the revolution") is a person non grata now.

If there ever was a country that the US should "intervene" in this is it.

"Official" numbers dont exist because the government keep saying it is a not issue and is "minimal", in reality we already beat syria by a couple of millions more, is calculated that half the population will leave by 2025 (our population is 30 millions and almost 9 millions have left)

She is non grata because the shill money stopped coming and she started to be a passive aggresive bitch against Maduro, no one care about her

A couple of years ago the illegal immigration to Colombia was pretty bad. The locals in Medellin weren't very happy from what I saw. The locals I was with were quite vocal about it.

You know, people were actively fleeing Cuba, back in the day, because they saw the writing on the wall.

If socialism was so great, why were people leaving the island nation by the boatload?
According to the local Twitter tankies, they’re all convicts or dissidents.

Its still terrible, you want to see real racism? go to Cucuta or Maicao, they treat Venezuelans as vermins that only come to steal jobs, rob people or in the case if they are womans as homewreckers
Maduro seems to care about her. And so do the current shills. Im sure there would have been more shill money if she would have just shut the fuck up and done what shes told.
He cared because she was his voice in the USA, problem is, no one and absolutely no one believed all the stupid bullshit she spew, she was in new york as a glorified proxy of Telesur where according to them nothing bad happens, Venezuela is the best, when Orange man begun to roll the sanctions several shills pulled the plug because they prefer to have Maduro petty hate that being ejected from the country

Yep that part is true some people deserved to go to the gulag so to speak. But alot of them are just innocent people who said the wrong thing at the wrong time.
Well, they aren't wrong, when you think about it.
True except in their country a kid who stole a candy bar and got caught gets lifetime in gulag along with political dissident who called the leader a arsehole.

What ejected from the country? Shes a US citizen. Even shills have their limits and she probably saw enough evil from within to shatter what ever delusions she may have had left and seeing everything she put a knife in his back as he deserves it.

Lol let the dumbfucks that let Chavez and the bigger dumbfuck Maduro get power enjoy the hellhole they've made.

Fuck them, hope they enjoy starvation. They had their chance 3 years ago and didn't do jack shit.

Man I gotta go down to there and find a nice 9/10 Venezuelan to bring home.

Well, of course they're dissidents! If they were loyal to the state they'd be staying, but empty bellies have a way of eliminating loyalty few other things do.

In the aftermath of the protests, the ladies in white opposition was arrested.

Havana (AFP) – A prominent Cuban dissident was arrested along with three other women in the capital Havana on Sunday, her husband said.

Berta Soler, who leads the Ladies in White protest movement, was held ahead of a regular demonstration in support of political prisoners, former dissident Angel Moya confirmed to AFP.
Long considered the only opposition group the Cuban government allows to march regularly, the Ladies in White movement is made up of the relatives of jailed dissidents, campaigning for their release.
They march almost every Sunday, dressed in white.
"They were arrested at approximately 11 in the morning, when they were preparing to go to Santa Rita," Moya said, referring to the church where the women usually attend mass on Sunday before marching.
Along with Soler, Ladies in White members Lourdes Esquivel and Gladys Capote, as well as Barbara Ferrat, were arrested by plainclothes police, he said.
He indicated that, "prevented from going to Santa Rita," the women began a protest outside the Ladies in White headquarters in the Lawton neighborhood of Havana.
Ferrat's son, 17-year-old Jonathan Torres, was earlier arrested for participating in historic July 11 protests that flared up in about 50 Cuban cities over the summer.

Time to bump this thread and sorry for the double post but from what I saw on Twitter, I think the Che and Fidel already spin in their graves.

This month, Cuba became the first Latin American country to celebrate LGBTQ+ History Month. Activists hope it will help fight discrimination across the nation, which has seen huge progress for queer communities over the past few decades.
Talk about a way to not think about inflation and other troubles...
