Venezuela is basically ruled from a Marriot Hotel in Caracas. Various billionaires sniffing after privatization join Marines and US officials there. The actual US Embassy is bug infested from been closed for some years and is being fumigated. Delcy Rodríguez has to look after the detailed stuff. Cuba is in a much more miserable state. Unlike other Communist states like China and Vietnam, it failed to update in any serious fashion. Cuba is apparently run for the benefit of a military conglomerate GAESA which controls up to 70% of the economy from gas stations to hotels (the actual government is left the dross). Headed by one Brig. Gen. Ania Guillermina Lastres Morero who's connected to Raúl's grandson Raúl Guillermo Rodríguez Castro, who thanks to his family is a sort of Prince of the Blood. It was created by Raúl Castro himself in the 1990s. If the Cuban Military is neutered and Castro arrested, GAESA might be pulled apart, unless it's an actual effective operation that could prove useful to any US presence. Trump has got a reputation for empty threats (Iran), but carries them out when the opportunity is clear. Maduro certainly found out. This will be interesting indeed. The yoinking happened because in retrospect a large part of the Venezuelan government sold the idiot bus driver out to the gringos. Its questionable that this will happen in Cuba.
