Technically autism is not a learning disability, it's a neurological disorder that can rob you of executive function, which is what we're seeing with Chris.

Remind me again, why he can't be both? There are some absolute batshit autistic people, and it's not a product of laking occupational therapy or support, autism just screws up your brain. There's tons of comorbidity with autism
Autism is developmental, not neurological. Neuro would be something like parkinson’s or multiple sclerosis, Autism is on the same kind of lines as ADHD.

And to answer your second point, Chris’s autism “didn’t screw him up” in this way- the internet trolling is what did the most damage. Magical thinking =/= delusions. Chris has an overactive imagination combined with the classic autistic trait of taking things very literally. Nobody has been there to bring her back down to earth, instead people have fed into it at every opportunity. Thats why I wouldn’t say Chris is delusional- the internet just fed an autistic person’s imagination until it got to this stage.

Delusions can be treated; anti psychotics do the trick pretty well for most. This is more of a product of, for a lack of a better word, brainwashing. If the internet had never been a part of her life, I would bet my left tit that Chris wouldn’t be spouting this shit today. I would liken this to Phil’s australatina- a product of a truely autistic mind that acts as a kind of place to retreat into for comfort. The difference is, most don’t tell phil that his made up country is real, they laugh at him for it. Chris on the other hand has had people trolling her for the best part of 10+ years, with barely anyone saying hey, CWCville isn’t a real place. Instead, they exploit the fact Chris loves the idea of CWCville so much to get to her.

So yes, in a way Chris is mentally ill, but it’s a product of people feeding the overactive imagination of an autistic person for years upon years. Chris isn’t schizophrenic, CWCville isn’t a delusion, it’s a world made up by the mind of an autistic child that has been reinforced by pretty much everyone she had been in contact with.

THIS.

The worst thing you can do for a delusion is encourage it.

You are NEVER SUPPOSED TO DO THIS.
it might be worse though if you try to discourage it too. Might escalate things and make it worse.

Pros need to fix all this, not kiwis. Get Chris to a pro first or at least talk to one and see what you can do. There's all this talk of getting the cops involved with charging these scumbags (good) but what about talking to a professional psychiatrist if that's where people really want to go. A good one BTW not one that's dodgy.

It's not an end though if this is what happens to Chris. It might take months or years but people can get help and come out strong enough to deal with the world again.

Keep in mind though Chris wasn't fond of jail. Mental hospital is a far more positive environment but it's still a restrictive environment. There are ones that are a bit more open though, but that depends on what Virginia has to offer.

Chris has seen several psychologists. They said "yeah, you're totally a woman now, here's your new license MISS Christine! Oh and keep drawing, I'm sure it's uhh.. good therapy or some shit..".

The only thing that would make anyone take action is if they see the video of Chris punching himself and his elderly mother.

which is why I said psychiatrist, not psychologist. There is a difference.

And I did say find a good one, not a dodgy one. Unless the entire American mental health system consists of quacks giving out hrt (which I doubt) there is usually SOMEONE.

Who do you think looks after people in mental hospitals? Invisible fairies? They also have ones you refer to after you get out to make sure your life is getting back on track etc.

I'm not sure about referral to start off with unless it was an emergency or emergency department was involved. Maybe a GP might help give a proper referral.

If you suspect someone is going through mental distress there are professionals you can turn to for help, even as a carer of someone going through shit

I don't disagree that that's what he needs, I'm just saying that shit ain't happening.

It's 2018, guys in white vans don't show up with butterfly nets to catch "loonies" anymore. In America you're actually allowed to be pretty friggin crazy before anybody steps on "yer freedoms". Not to mention, we don't really have mental hospitals anymore. There's some I'm sure, but they tend to be reserved for "I got high and ate a guys face" type cases.

Also, Chris has shit tier government insurance. That's how he ends up in pump and dump therapy, usually court ordered. And usually by somebody who just wants to sign off and move on.
You can't underestimate how crappy our mental healthcare system is.
I mean.. Kiwi farms, fam.

Didn't mean to imply anything about white vans and butterfly nets. I meant referring to someone serious and them telling you what you should do rather than speculating what you should do.

I will admit I don't know what it's like in America. And I shouldn't say really mental hospital more like branches of hospitals dedicated to mental health. There are other people there other than Meth heads but that was my experience in another country.

But yeah, I don't know how bad it is in America, but how bad can it be? USA is a first world country isn't it?

I'm not kidding, our freedom thing is really ingrained. Combine that with ultra litigiousness and the fact that you need people to actually care about your future, and you can see how far Chris can take his craziness unchecked. It's no mistake that almost all of our most self-destructive cows here are American.

Like I don't think Ashley issacs would be allowed to reduce herself to a skeleton in, say, Denmark. Here? She can walk around Walmart, just haunting the dreams of unlucky children all she wants..

Okay then, so your country is shit when it comes to help. I still have a hard time believing there is no professional who can help at all. It comes off like an abusive boyfriend telling a GF don't bother telling the cops "they don't do anything". Yeah right.

What do you suggest, just let Chris just lie there and mentally rot? He was coerced into harming himself and his mom FFS.

Not doing anything seems defeatist and speculating what to do as a layman seems condescending.

I'll drive my point home with this: of all the people that SHOULD be seeking that sort of help for Chris, the only people that actually seem to be doing something are Null and Marvin.
Barb? Anna? Rocky? "Oh just let her be! If it makes her happy just let her do it!".
Help does exist, but somebody actually has to care enough about you to seek it out. OR you have to break the law. Which is where most of Chris's mental therapy has come from.

I'm all for Chris getting help, in my perfect vision of his future he lives in a structured group home. But after reading his correspondence with Null, Im genuinely am starting to lose hope.

So start caring then

In my perfect vision he gets help and conquers his problems and manages to live some life with some independence.

And I don't believe in losing hope. Giving up is not an option

There is one last option that could at least safeguard Chris from people taking further advantage of him in this way; someone benevolent (@Null maybe?) convinces Chris they have managed to wrangle complete control over CWCville and have put measures in place that make it impossible for anyone else to take control (tell Chris there’s some kind of shield bubble around CWCville that teleports anyone trying to enter into a holographic version of it instead where they do no damage to the “real” CWCville for example). It means anymore photoshopped photographic “evidence” can be completely disregarded by Chris, and the protector of CWCville just has to tell Chris that everything is still fine.

I realize this is playing into his fantasy which isn’t ideal and it doesn’t fix his issues with reality but it might stop further attempts like this.

EDIT: :late: Late idea

One of his friends who watched Sailor Moon said something to the effect using Sailor Moon canon and he accepted it.

It's sad. Two guys bully Chris into giving them money and all of a sudden everybody wants to lock Chris up in the nuthouse. Keep in mind that once you go into some place like that, unless you have family on the outside willing and able to help you and take care of you, you aren't getting out. Chris has nobody, because I guarantee you that even if Barb actually did care enough to want to get him out, they wouldn't release him to her. In fact, they'd probably end up taking her and putting her into a separate facility away from Chris, effectively locking them both up forever.

He lost $6,000 to a couple of weeb shits and now has a maladaptive daydreaming problem in which he believes his daydream fantasy world and the characters in it are real. Does he really deserve to be locked up for this? I don't think so. Does he need help? Yes, but not the nuthouse kind of help. Aside from his imaginary friends, is Chris really so bad right now? He's not running people over or macing people anymore. He's kissing people(on the cheek) and rolling up into his hedgehog-defensive state with a side of trespassing.

As for punching Barb, he was coerced into doing that by two psychopaths that took advantage of him. This isn't some regular thing. He's not going around abusing himself and others on a whim for no reason. Two shithead psychopaths broke into his mind, fucked it and convinced him that doing that was the only way to save a fictional town that they screwed his mind into believing was real. Is this a regular occurrence? No. He gets trolled a lot, but nothing like this.

he's a danger to himself you retard

I still think it could prove he's a danger to himself. He's certainly vulnerable.

Besides, we're not advocating for a fucking asylum, we're advocating a group home where he's looked after (because Lord knows Barb won't do it!) and given a structured life. I'd imagine a group home would have outings and such for its patients and the rigid structure would do Chris good.

How so? Because someone tricked him into punching himself that one time? Aside from pretending he can see his imaginary friends, what makes him more dangerous now than a few years ago?

The fact he's shown how easily he can be psychologically abused. That is a serious fucking danger to himself.

Shit on the floor or I'll fire the Death Star.
Punch yourself silly or I'll fire the Death Star
Smack your mother or I'll fire the Death Star
Burn your house down or I'll fire the Death Star
Go on a knife rampage or I'll fire the Death Star.
