THIS. This is why the gaming industry is collapsing. Devs who just do everything the players tell them to to make more cash. How can you ruin something so great for profit? How can you betray the original fans that were there from the beginning for some stupid demographic that doesn't even CARE about the game's quality? I'm never buying anything by this developer EVER again.
Huh. Last time I checked, people said the industry was collapsing because business heads were doing the opposite of what their customer base are telling to do: Just make games that prioritize fun factor over heavy monetization.
 
Achievements RUIN the original vision. And for what? To attract more brainless achoovement hoonter cucks who only care about displaying their stupid squares on their main profile. Have you seen what these people play? Their accounts are full of 1000 achievement hentai bejeweled clones and lazy puzzle games that award you 500 cheevos for 10 seconds of gameplay. "I-I'm achoovingg I'm achooovinng!!!!"
just turn them off in steam
 
Decided to give Crus a whirl after the achievements were added, and I think Kallo buffed the extravagant suit: now it does the forced countdown much like the Cortical Scaledown, so I think the old cheese strat of beating Trauma Loop (flying to the goal with a Scaledown + Biojets combo) is doable with the suit, flowerchute, grappendix, and either the tier 3 speed enhancer or super jump.

You just need to build up a shitton of momentum.

EDIT: The flowerchute was my biggest enemy in my attempts! In the end, I just stuck to the life sensors and had the funkgrunters on. Momentum still played a key role though.

EDIT 2: Got better results with the scaledown in the head slot. Thankfully, stacking the scaledown and the suit doesn't screw up the countdown.

Ironically it's opposite for AAA and Indie. AAA sucks because the devs listen to marketing that is populated by women and trannies, indie sucks because the dev listens to his discord group that is populated by trannies.

Hopefully some of the achievements are of the "FUCK YOU" variety. Or so easy they are meaningless.

This is a big one, way too many games get shit up because they make changes to accomodate people who will not play their game for hundreads of hours and often dont even like the game.

They sorta are its one for beating each stage and then another set for beating stages with suit (2 shot death).

Don't you mean the opposite? Discord trannies will play the game literally thousands of hours and then complain it's too easy. It's what happened with Darkest Dungeon 1 when the dev seemingly antagonized everyone else with updates that made the already hard game even more needlessly hard, convoluted and antagonizing. And then he doubled down in the sequel where he made it roguelike, ugly, removed "problematic" characters and added gay romance.

Thats true too but im more complaining about people who complain instantly about stuff youll only mistake once or twice. Like "i keep accidentally using items because im stupid" and then the menu is bogged down by a confirmation checkbox or a hold-to-press and they call it a "quality of life change" but really the game is permanently worse because of it.

Or hell the souls games with each entry theyve made it harder and harder to invade players with hurdles you have to jump through. But the people who keep the game active are the pvpers and if you lower their multiplayer window to the point it takes 15 minutes to find someone, well now theyre just gonna quit. And who does it help? People who only play the game once and maybe finish it. Why appease them when theyll experience 2-4 invasions a playthru?

Seems like technical debt and scope creep has come for the twitter artist.
Cruelty Squad was an honest to God mess when it came to being optimized and properly organized and ran poorly for what it was.
Also, Notch himself had the luxury of being a competent coder.
 
With games like Concord, Cruelty Squad looks downright gorgeous. It's amazing how video game art devolved.
 
The problem with trying to make anything AFTER cruelty squad is that the genie is out of the bottle. You can't recapture that experience again without everyone comparing it to what came before, he's in an unenviable position.

I mean it won't be able to recreate the highs and lows of weirdness but cruelty squad is also just a great game so a new game could refine that gameplay. Also I think there's a lot of trippy weirdness still untapped.
