It's applicable without being allegorical. It makes a point without being preachy or outwardly telling you what it says you should do instead. Ville Kallio says what is and that it's bad and that's it. You get the catharsis of ending it in an ambiguous way and you're left to decide what 'Golden Age' meant as you peeled that onion.

The Undertale-tier deconstruction of games by encouraging you to break the game but without the grating fandom was also refreshing. The fanart of MT Fuck and Noelle was the weirdest thing but it was oddly wholesome, if anyone saw that.

Actually that's a good point, the game is very unappealing to normies and that makes me far less sick of it than any other popular game with whole channels based on analyzing it.
I guess that normies get offended from the game, but can't express why.
 
Started playing this the other day and didn't think I would like it as much as I actually do. Then I bought the skinsuit with no apparent downsides. This game is funny as hell.

It's two fold. On the one hand, it's superficially ugly and has a hell of a learning curve. On the other hand, its depth is deconstructing a lot of the things normies want, aspire to, and want to use as a cope.

It skewers the hell out of consumerism, being bought off with the bread and circus of modern bullshit, transhumanism and science as fixing personal (and personality) problems and providing meaning, passivity, and the rich as much as those who simp for them.

If you're the kind of idiot who uses social media as an RSS feed of truth and socially useful opinions, and Cruelty Squad literally takes a fat shit on you before grappendixing off like zombie biopunk spiderman on the way to remake the cosmos, of course you're turned off from it, lmao.

The ugliness is interesting in that it's just not clean - Modern corporate and consoomer art is all about the cleanliness, yeah it is full of ugly trannies and sheboons, but it will be single color with minimal texture and even go on pure pastel. It makes the game reviling in a way that is probably an anathema to normies. You can also say the game pretty much says the world is a dog eat dog and that rich people might as well be gods rather than go with blaming everything on racism.

It's one of those games I liked because it's a good imsim, but I hate because it's dripping with that postmodern "ugly for the sake of ugly" that appeals to insufferable contrarian hipster faggots who'll pretend to be fans because it makes someone else mad. See people like Primus or DeathGrips fans. The opposite side of the coin of soulless consumers who buy funko pops and probably have Alegria diversity posters in their home.

I just like talking to the npcs in the game and listening to what they have to say, like your neighbors in the house level who scold you for not only being a city slicker but a mech. Or the people in casino catastrophe that comment about their admiration of minimalistic Scandinavian sewer designs while swimming in them as I fish.

The game is really funny and I still think about this one from time to time:
"Stealth Suit:
Uses a coating of newly developed chameleon bacteria to make the user practically invisible up to about 20 universal length units. Has an overbearing stench and because of this the special forces units that make use of it are widely known as shitmen"

The neat part is that mostly explains why people can still spot you from medium-close range: they can probably smell you. Even funnier is that the extra target of Idiot Party is also wearing that suit, and when you talk to him he mentions the smell probably gave him away.
