You got a point. I think there is only one part in the Remake where the jump physics screws you over. And that is the part where 3 extra lives is hovering over jumping crates, that you are supposed to jump on and back to where you started. But because Remake relies on realism jump physics... you cant get back its impossible, unlike PS1 version where that was no problem. I am thinking of that secret stage in Crash Bandicoot 2.Originals because they look better and the hitboxes are better, Crash doesn't slide off platforms when he lands too close to the edge. The originals look and sound way better IMO also, more vivid colours and livelier animations. The PS1 artstyle just suits Crash way better, he was literally made for it.
You should play both if you care to, there's no significant gameplay changes going from the originals to remakes except extra time trials in Crash 1 and 2.
What does this sentence even mean?Whereas PS1 was trying to appeal to teenage badboys with a shirtless guy wearing jeans
Did you manage to platinum Future Tense or Stormy Ascent? You got a point. I think there is only one part in the Remake where the jump physics screws you over. But one thing Remake did good on, is Crash Bandicoot 2 whether PS1 or Remake. Looks very nice!
Overall the acceleration physics didnt bother me since i guess they wanted to up the challenge a little bit. But the game testers must have forgotten that one secret stage in Crash 2 for sure when implementing that (Or they just didnt give a shit. Because eh it worked on everything else hah)
edit: But i gotta say. "The Lab Time Trial" in Crash 1 Remake . Whoever made that Platinum challenge needs his head examined. I consider it 60% skills and 40% luck (Especially at the end of that stage). I got it by the time (43:68 relic) on Platinum. But i say most of it was pure luck, on the PC version of N Sane Trilogy. And i am never doing that again!
Not gotten to Crash 3 yet (Besides i dont have a Gamepad currently) Which makes Crash 1 easier on PC with keyboard.Did you manage to platinum Future Tense or Stormy Ascent?
On further thought, those 2 levels alone are worth checking out the remakes for. I really liked how Future Tense used some tricks not seen in any other levels, like branched paths on the sidescroller section and how there's enemies behind the camera that you can only see via reflections on the background.
Totally agree on the charactermodels being off, this becomes super apparent when comparing Crash in Crash 2 to the N-Sane TrilogyOriginal, I feel like the Nsane version while it has good gameplay and qol changes, loses the atmosphere in almost every way and the music changes are meh, also kinda think the characters themselves look a bit uncanny too
crash of the titans was okeyish in it alternative direction but cmom was just a mediocre platformer with even more cringe humorCrash Mind Over Mutant and Crash of The Titans are the only two Crash Bandicoot games.
