The site is messing up and i can't quote Jeff_the_Thriller but i didn't know RE had couch Co-op? Never been into horror games but it sounds like the perfect games to play cooperatively.
I wouldn't consider RE5 and 6 horror. They are more like action games with weird monsters. 6 is an unintentional comedy with its absurdity. Both are great coop games and you can pick them up cheap for last gen consoles.

Too good of a thread to be left for dead. Especially when I'm looking for new couch games right now. Co-op and Vs both, short and long sessions, everything goes.

Remember, even if you have no friends, it doesn't mean you can't suggest games for those who do!

Major thread necromancy here. Assuming that's all good here...

Beat 'em ups make for good couch games. My first recommendation is Tower of Doom/Shadows over Mystara, two mid-90s Capcom-produced Dungeons and Dragons arcade games that have been ported to the PC. They're surprisingly deep considering the genre and platform, with lots of moves for each character, tons of special items, secrets, and alternate paths.

The relatively more recent Shredder's Revenge is also really solid. Plays a lot like the classic Ninja Turtles arcade game with better controls and more content.

It's been out awhile, but I only recently tried Overcooked my friends and had a blast. You play as chefs and have work as a team to complete food orders, and each stage has different layouts and recipes. After the first few stages, you'll likely need to try the levels a couple times so you can understand where everything is and fall into the groove. The latest version is called "All You Can Eat" and has all the stuff from the past two games and I guess some extras. We didn't play it long enough to get into it, but it was definitely something we'll play again.

There is lot:
  • Resident Evil 5 - Fun split-screen zombie shooter, can be too horror for some.
  • Resident Evil 6 - not too much horror, very entertaining, low-tier B movie action-horror split-screen action
  • Lethal League Blaze - hit the ball couch vs game
  • Ultimate Chicken Horse - vs platform where the players put traps on map and try to finish
  • Any Warriors game (Dynasty, Orochi, Samurai) - Not all have, but most have split-screen. Mindless hack and slash with flashy ultimates
  • It Takes Two - Split-screen co-op campaign, has mini-games and amusing story
  • Watchmen: The End is Nigh 1-2 - Basic split-screen 3D beat-em up, not too bad not too great.
  • Dark Pictures games - Low-tier horror movie games, basically party plays a horror movie with QTE action.
  • A Hat in Time - Nice split-screen platformer
  • Beyond Two Souls - Dumb QTE story game, but can be entertaining co-op
  • Cook, Serve, Delicious games - Menu-based cooking/management game, can be co-op.
  • Wyldermyth - Co-op DND game, turn-based, big campaigns with randomized story events
  • Trine games - Phsyics puzzle-ish platformers for 3 people

Ultimate Chicken Horse
Been thinking about that, looks retarded enough and a little competetive in just the right way.

For longer sessions I've been thinking of trying Path of Exile 2 and see how well couch coop actually works in a game like that. Preparing myself for disappointment.

I already got Stick Fight and Gang Beasts, bought them before and tried them out. Probably perfect for short pick up & play sessions, had a good time with both, but it kinda gets old quickly

We played Gang Beasts several times before. It's not co-op, but it is fun. If we're going outside of co-op, I have a lot more games I could recommend.

Why not, nobody's making a new thread just for that. As long as the main thing is couch+game+fun, I think it fits the spirit of the thread. So go ahead, I won't tell anyone and @NoReturn will probably never know you dared to fuck with his/her/xer thread.
